Little Man
Little Man
There’s a little man inside my head
who is locked up in a cell
if he gets free he opens gates
that controls the jaws of hell.
And most days he just sits and rocks
I make sure that he’s secure
and the words that spill out from my mouth
are gentle, sweet and pure.
When other people stir me up
with bitterness and hate
I hear him begging to get free
the rattling of his gate.
But if they hurt the ones I love
he knows I’ll throw the key
and then the words come streaming out
he is in control of me.
There are two levers he can use
sarcasm is the first
but if you really upset me
the second will be worst.
So be aware that little man
is waiting for your hate
be careful not to see him free
or you must accept your fate.
