Late night reading
Here I am at midnight
Still not gone to bed
Can’t put the latest book down
Eyes aching in my head
Short chapters are the problem
Tempting me to the next
“I’ll just read one more chapter”
Then I don’t put down the text
Just a couple more pages
And then I’ll close it – look
Now I’m reading with just one eye
But I can’t put down this book!
