Just an Average Person
Just an Average Person
I’m just an average person
Who goes to work each day
Tax and National insurance
are deducted from my pay
I do my bit for charity
I pay off all my bills
I save up for my holiday
And one or two more frills
I like to have a meal out
And help my kids through school
I recycle all my packaging
And adhere to all the rules
I’m just another person
Trying to get by
I expect the politicians
to respect how much I try
But life’s become a circus
with far too many clowns
I watch it on the tele’
And shake my head and frown.
A brewery and piss up
Is what always springs to mind
Elected, paid comedians
And that’s me being kind
They argue their opinon
And then they change their tune
I have to switch the programme
Or else I leave the room
How did this really happen?
We used to be so great
We need someone to sort it
Before it is too late
So welcome to Great Britain
We hope you like the show
We’ve proved that evolution
Still has a way to go.
