It’s Time To Say Goodbye

Tomorrow I am having a tooth extraction rather than mope around I thought I’d write a little tribute to my old faithful gnasher. Hope you enjoy (not the extraction but the ditty).

It’s Time To Say Goodbye

I’m saying goodbye to my gnasher,
my dearest, munching friend.
Our time together is final,
and our chewing days must end.

You’ve been a stalwart partner
through toffees, crisps and rock.
Loyal in every bite we had,
a chip off my old block!

So now you’ve been condemned to go,
the dentist’s marked your card.
Please don’t make it tough for us
by making life too hard.

I’ve known you for more time than not,
you big old molar you.
You’re at the back as my old mate,
just waiting there to chew!

You’ll leave a gap so hard to fill,
a gaping, big black hole.
No other tooth could measure up
to win my heart and soul.

So when I sit and say goodbye,
through my remaining, gritted teeth,
I’ll take a glance to see you there
in that metal bowl beneath.

But before we take that final trip
we’ll eat a hearty meal.
The final dish will be superb
before our sad ordeal!!!!
Bon appetite!
