It’s a Wrap
It’s a Wrap
Today I wrapped the Christmas gifts,
It always falls on me.
Because I’m good at Origami,
They say I do it best, you see.
To begin with all went well,
In fact, it was a breeze.
As I wrapped up books and boxes
And rectangular shapes with ease.
But then came all the soft toys,
The Teddy bears and clothes.
And I dropped the scissors on the floor,
As I reached up to scratch my nose.
Then the Cello-tape misbehaved,
It drove me round the bend.
I picked and scratched for half an hour,
But I just could not find the end.
So I reached out for the superglue
And a ball of silvered string
Then I wrapped up all the jewellery
And assorted bags of bling.
I wrestled with a Barbie Doll
And I spilt glue on Santa’s nose
Then I dropped a heavy paperweight,
Which landed on my toes.
Then I lost my temper
And I threw the Reindeers in the air
And as I tried to catch them
I banged my knees against the chair.
Right now I’m feeling angry,
As I limp around in pain.
But I know that when next Christmas comes around,
I shall do it all again.
