I’m attracted to the cat!

Below is another really funny poem about a goldfish and a cat written by Tracey Curtis … it is sure to make you smile and brighten your day!

I’m attracted to the cat!

My name is Bob the builder
Bill and Ben they are my friends
We live inside a fish bowl
And our friendship never ends

I’m a gingered coloured goldfish
And there’s nothing wrong in that
But my friends both say I’m odd
As I’m attracted to the cat

I don’t know why I feel this way
Sometimes it makes me sad
As she’s a cat and I’m a fish
My friends both say it’s mad

I watch her through my glass
When she’s sitting on the chair
When she roles upon her back
I have to swim up top for air

I love the way she moves around
The way she stretches on the floor
I love the way she moves her hips
When she rubs against the door

When she licks her long black legs
I just seem to lose control
Last night I swam around so fast
I hit my head against the bowl

I love to watch her sleeping
With the sun light on her back
My friends say it’s a death wish
And she’d eat me for a snack

I just can’t seem to help myself
She so fluffy and so fine
I love the cat I really do
And I want to make her mine

I think she wants me to, I swear
As she comes up to my bowl
She often puts her paw in
Through the big round air filled hole

She moves her paw around my bowl
To pat me on the head
My friends scream out ‘just swim you fool’
It’s because she aint been fed

But I’m sure she wants to pick me up
To lick my little fins
If she licked my scales upon my tail
My thoughts would turn to sins

I love this cat I really do
But I’m just a gingered fish
My friends say she won’t want me
Unless I’m in her dish

They say she only eyes me up
As she wants a little munch
They say she wants to get me out
And turn me into lunch

They said, she’d like to play with me
And stroke me with her paws
But when she’s had enough of me
She’d stick me with her claws

I know they’re looking out for me
They don’t want me in the dish
But I just can’t seem to help myself
I’m a romantic kind of fish

I don’t know why I feel this way
Sometimes it makes me sad
As she’s a cat and I’m a fish
Sometimes it makes me mad

I just can’t seem to help myself
She’s so sexy and so fine
I love this cat I really do
And I wish that she was mine

My friends both said be careful
Just what you’re wishing for
Or you’ll be out the fish bowl
And flapping on the floor

So I swim around my bowl
As there’s nothing wrong in that
My friends still think I’m odd I guess
As I’m attracted to the cat!
