How To Spoil Your Valentine

How To Spoil Your Valentine

They’d had a sumptuous dinner
and a fine wine from Bordeaux.
There was an air of romance,
the night was set to go!

Barry White was on the stereo,
his soulful, sensual voice.
The lights were turned down softly,
that perfect dreamy choice.

The sofa was inviting,
they collapsed there in a heap.
He sidled up beside her,
and started breathing deep.

He stroked her perfect shoulder,
and whispered in her ear,
“You’re my Valentine sensation
and I’ll always love you dear”.

Just at that tender moment,
that kiss from paradise,
a little furry head appeared,
complete with furry mice.

She screamed and then turned quite rigid,
so the cat then dropped the mouse.
The room was in upheaval,
resounding through the house.

The stereo had gone flying,
an atmosphere most tense,
a Valentine disaster,
romance made no sense.

The cat just sat there washing,
and the mouse had taken leave.
There was that look triumphant,
a victor I believe!
