Hope
Hope
Step by step, day by day
I need to find another way.
The life I knew before is gone
The path before me stretches in.
And though I find it hard to face
No bitterness must find a place
Within my heart, to there corrupt
The memories and thus disrupt
All future chance of peace of mind
That precious thing that I must find.
And sometimes on a sunny day
It’s easier to see the way.
To dream again and live in hope
To learn to smile and learn to cope.
For though I grieve and won’t forget
My life will hold some meaning yet.
