Getting Older
Getting Older
When you’re young and everything works
You walk and run, physical jerks
Leaping jumping ducking diving
Life is good while everything’s thriving
Time flies by in thousands of weeks
My body now groans, cracks and creaks
The eyes grow weak and I need glasses
Life is becoming a series of farces
Not long after that the joints starting hurting
No running about, jumping or spurting
Visit the doctor his name’s Sidney Titus
Looks like my knee has a touch of arthritis
Referred to the surgeon resigned to my fate
You need a new joint I’ll give you date
Sliced me and diced me but finished by tea
Back to the ward with titanium knee
At this time in my life I know that we’re happy
We both enjoy life there’s nothing that’s crappy
Others take tablets and go through the mill
But I am so lucky not one single pill
I’m in enjoying my life, off on the lash
Cos in thirty years time I’ll probably be ash…..
