Fortunate Me
Fortunate Me
I think when’s it going to be my turn, while I sit here with ticket in hand.
As I watch those little balls dropping down I think it would really be grand.
But alas they are not my numbers that show up on the screen.
Am I full of envy? Yes, my face is a definite shade of green.
It doesn’t have to be millions I’m not the greedy kind.
But if I won a few thousand, I really wouldn’t mind.
You guessed it! I’m talking about Lotto that in my mind plants dreams.
But the odds are not in my favour it’s not yet my turn it seems.
But then I sit and ponder what would I do with it if I won.
I would like the chance to find out, I’m sure it would be fun.
Of course I would help my children to make a better life.
To help with the bills of everyday living that can get them into strife.
We could have one big family holiday where we could spend all day,
Seeing sites and having time on the beach, where the grandkids all could play..
No expense spared I would foot the bill we could have whatever we choose.
In the evening I could play the pokies, wouldn’t matter if I lose.
But then I stop and think to myself our life is not so bad.
Would we be any happier if lots of money we had!
If you have good health and enough to eat you are rich beyond compare.
Just think of the poor people in the world, imagine that’s you, if you dare.
I will keep on buying a ticket I can dream of the day when I win.
But my thoughts of unfortunate people! Being wealthy is just a sin.
Money is meant to be shared around not only for the fortunate few.
So, if I won a lot of money I know what I would do.
I would donate some to different causes, especially to find a cancer cure.
That would be a wonderful blessing of that I’m really sure..
So be kind lady luck come smile on me to make my dreams come true.
I promise I will donate to charity, if I have a little help from you
