For Those who Fought
For those who fought
A symbol of the Nation,
A poppy gleaming red,
A simple notification,
Of a Nation’s ‘Glorious dead’.
Worn proudly in November,
On a small lapel,
By those who all remember,
Those who fought, and fell.
For those who spurn this flower,
Then cowards be your name,
For, came the day, and came the hour,
These boys put you to shame.
Mick.
