First steps
Mick Westwood shares a beautiful poem describing a child’s first steps ..
First steps
Climb from my knee, it is time to run free,
Time to start forming your day,
Games to be played, mistakes to be made,
Setting the milestone, – your way.
Pleasures to taste, spent youth to waste,
A childs mind to satisfy first,
So many years, love, courage, fears,
All have a curious thirst.
“What does this do? – Who taught it to you?,
How do I know what is right?”.
Things to explore, each day and more,
Touch, taste, smell, – and sight.
Day after day, growing your way,
Finding, and testing, what’s true,
Growing each day, in your own unique way,
Turning, – from me, – into you!
Run free my child, – God keep you safe xx
