Feelings

For Mental Health Awareness Week – but so very relevant every single day of the year. ❤️

Feelings

Why do we try so hard to hide our feelings
Whilst inside of us they wreak havoc,
Causing pain
But we make out we are OK
Again and again

Afraid to appear weak, out of control
Not on top form
We want to fit in
Conform to the norm, not appear down
So, we straighten our crown

But the truth of it is, it’s OK to feel sad
Have negative thoughts
Not always feel glad
Be kind to yourself, acknowledge your sorrow
Whilst living in hope for a better tomorrow

I absolutely love writing poems. Enjoying my garden and my dogs. I used to be an Age UK Befriender, which I would thoroughly recommend to anybody. So rewarding
