How cruel to take away my love
Yet leave her present here
To take away the memories
That made our life so dear
I turn my heart away from you
I find no comfort there
Our bond of love will see us through
So strong it will not tear
I’ll hold on tight to my sweetheart
And soothe away her fears
I’ll tell her that we’ll never part
And wipe away her tears
No longer will I turn to you
For strength to carry on
You’ve turned your back on both of us
My faith in you is gone
