Enjoy Every Moment

When we are young we sometimes wish we were older.  When we are older we wish we had taken our time and enjoyed things more and lived in the moment.  ❤️

Enjoy Every Moment

I’m sat indoors, alone again
Just me and my faithful TV
As I reminisce my yesteryears
The old days when I felt more like me

A better life, with my beautiful wife
And our children brought joy every day
We both did our best, they’ve long flown the nest
My heart broke when my wife passed away

I feel so alone as I stare at the phone
Each minute now feels like an hour
The silence, the hush, there’s never a rush
Locked away in my ivory tower

I miss the hustle, the daily bustle
My workmates, the structure, the noise
Now all I am left with are memories
Of the days when boys would be boys

Don’t rush to get old, as your future unfolds
Cherish every step on the way
Make memories to treasure, they’ll bring you great pleasure
Bringing light when the skies feel more grey

I absolutely love writing poems. Enjoying my garden and my dogs. I used to be an Age UK Befriender, which I would thoroughly recommend to anybody. So rewarding
