Engaging With Ageing
Engaging With Ageing
I have freckles aplenty, a lot more than twenty
They’re dotted all over the place.
On my stomach and chest and all of the rest of
My body…..except for my face.
So imagine the shock when I really took stock
Of my looks, it was really quite scary
Coz, I don’t have eye bags nor too many sags
And I’m thankfully not at all hairy
No, none of these things afflict me, as yet
The wrinkles not as bad as some people get.
I care for my skin and my decolletage
But a strange mark’s appeared upon my visage!
Oh horror! Oh shit! Is this really it?
Have I started to slip down the hill?
I’ve an age spot it’s true, very soon maybe two!
And for those you can’t take any pill!!
I could get really down, now that I’m turning brown
But I don’t see the point in that view.
So what! I am ageing, but still quite engaging,
I am lovely, no matter the hue!
So I’ll purchase the cream, fit it in my routine
And religiously be most defiant.
And if ever it’s mentioned, I’ll answer when questioned
“It’s a freckle, albeit, a giant”
