D-Day Remembered
Lest we forget 💜❤️
D-Day Remembered
Such valiant men, who had no choice
For the wrath of war, it stole their voice
The D-Day landings, meticulously planned
From air and sea, the troops would land
As we ponder from our comfy chair
We can only imagine their angst and despair
For, they were all far too young to die
As the bullets rained down from land, sea, and sky
The horrors witnessed on that day
In the survivors’ minds would always stay
Many families torn apart by this torrid war
How they longed for the lives they had before
Although we cannot change the past
Our gratitude will forever last
Your lives, cut short and filled with pain
Please know you didn’t die in vain
