Coastal Path
Coastal Path
Lead me to the water’s edge so I can dip my toes
Walk along the cliff tops where the summer breeze blows
Take me to the rock pools to search for tiny sea creatures
Lay amongst the sand dunes perfect for sun-seekers
Rows of coloured huts nestle deep into the cliffside
Gulls gather eagerly above trawlers that fish and glide
Hear the waves crash and roll tumbling on the rocks
In the harbour sits the mountain of empty lobster pots
Take me to the seaside no matter near or far
If I can’t fly to other shores I’ll happily go by car
A jaunt along a seafront then tip toe across the sand
Taking in the sea air just walking hand in hand
Walk along the coastal path gaze across the blue
Watching tiny boats bobbing along then disappear from view
Walk along the coastal path until your day is done
Sit a while just pause and watch the setting sun
