Christmas Feelings

Christmas Feelings

If the very thought of Christmas evokes a heavy heart
And your painted smile feels paper thin, and you fear you’ll fall apart
Just know that it is fine for you to feel the way you do
Whilst others may not understand what you’ve been going through

For some, they may feel more alone than they ever have before
As painful tears flow frequently behind a firmly closed front door
Those who have lost loved ones may feel consumed with grief
And the very thought of Christmas cheer can offer no relief

Others may be worrying about how they’ll bear the cost
As monies tight and times are strained, or perhaps a job they’ve lost
Or perhaps you’re simply overwhelmed as there’s just too much to do
Its Ok if you scale things back and take more care of you

For those who love and care for you should surely understand
Explain the way your feeling, perhaps they’ll lend a hand
For those who embrace Christmas time may you have a wealth of cheer
But please keep an eye on others who need help this time of year
