Children of the night

Children of the night

Children of the night, I see you there,
you’re looking around without a care,
standing on corners where you may be,
looking for people to come and see me.

Children of the night, I hear your prayer,
you’re looking for people to come my way,
so many strangers that pass you by,
you turn and look back and you wonder why.

Children of the night, you walk alone,
with the life you have chosen, I can not condone,
so many dangers, with every turn,
why do you do this, it’s my concern,

Your life is at risk, can’t you see,
give it up and be free.
Children of the night, your life is done,
it’s time to walk away, go back where it all began,
start a new life, and have some fun.
