Chaos in the Kitchen

I usually dine out so the oven has not been used in years, resulting in a hissy fit and exploding

Chaos in the Kitchen

Well the cookers given up
The pan has flipped its lid
The scales are sulking in the back
Just hoping they are hid

The chopping board’s resigned
The rolling pin just sighs
It’s been years since it was used
Flattening pastry for the pies

The blenders in a spin
The processor in bits
Top’s come off the Tupperware
I hope the  lid still fits

The utensil’s  are in uproar
Dishwasher in a state
For its only used to rinsing
An odd cup or a plate

But now it’s working overtime
And it is fully loaded
Won’t be surprised if it conked out
And finally exploded

Yes the kitchens in a panic
Everything is quaking
All this havoc’s come about
Because I’ve started baking

I have always written poetry but when my husband died suddenly I used it as a kind of therapy. I don’t usually share these unless I feel they will help someone in distress. The ones I share are mostly humorous intended to bring a smile in what I feel can be a very lonely world... I have written four booklets and now a Corona chronicles which is just twelve poems writ while I am in jail...oh sorry I meant lockdown. Am on my way for a second booklet.. Trying to make folk smile and take a minutes release from these difficult times helps me forget my sight problems..
