Bookworm

I must confess that I am an avid reader of books,
I read at least three books every day.
I have read the Kamasutra four times
And I have just read 50 Shades of Grey.

But please don’t misunderstand me,
I don’t only read about sex.
I am also interested in Paleontology
And yesterday I read about Tyrannosaurus Rex.

I am really not very interested in football,
And my mates all think I am a bore.
The last time I went to a match with them, I was reading,
And I didn’t see our side make the score.

I don’t care a jot about the book’s genre,
As long as the story has been well written.
I’ll read anything from Dostoyevsky’s Crime and Punishment,
To Beatrix Potter’s Tales of Tom Kitten.

I am also a championship speed-reader,
I am Godzilla… I am Superman… I am King Kong.
Today I’m going to read Tolstoy’s War and Peace,
And I’m sure it won’t take me very long.

My bedroom is stacked high with heavy tomes,
In there I spend many long hours.
So if I’ve gone to ground, that’s where you’ll find me.
Sat atop one of my many book towers.
