Beyond A Joke
Beyond A Joke
My daddy was a leaver,
My Auntie wants to stay,
My cousin thinks a people’s vote
Would help her have her say
The man who runs a shop in town
Agrees with the No Deals
My neighbour isn’t bothered
Doesn’t know how she now feels
Some want a customs union,
Some think that’s a mistake,
Some simply want to hear the truth
And news that isn’t fake
There might be an election soon,
But then again might not,
Most people favour certainty,
But no one knows a lot
I dearly love a little laugh,
But can’t cope with the tension
The British phrase ‘beyond a joke’
Is all I dare to mention
