As Good As You Get

As good as you get

Holding back to spring forward
Just taking in time
A background of blue sky
Trees outlined.

Courting pigeons, staying quiet close
Choosing a tree for mum to play host.
The bluetit deciding this box or that
The Robin feels safe and comes over to chat.

The fluttering Red Admiral
Puts on a show
One of pure beauty
Priceless I know.

A puppy white cloud
Passing, meaning no harm
A contrast of colour
Adds to the charm.

A Tulip, swans wing
A primrose grace
The scent of the Narcissi
A daffodils place.

Times moving forward
The sun has to set
I’d say as afternoon’s go
That’s as good as you’ll get.
