An old poem
Does anyone recall this old poem?
“Today I have seen all I wish,
for I have seen a thousand fish inscrutable and rum
Observing me with solemn eyes that show no wonder or surprise
Like humans only dumb.”
Last week I visited an Aquarium, and as I walked around these lines came into my head. I must have learned it at school, and I must have learned it well to remember it all these years. I have put it into Google but I can’t find any reference there. Does anyone know what it’s from? Did anyone else learn it? I would love to know.
Pat Hanna.
