A Storm in a Teacup
A Storm in a Teacup
News alert! news alert!
More things in short supply
I can’t believe I’m hearing this
As I let out a big sigh
A storm in a teacup
Is brewing right here
Yes, our media determined
To spread angst and fear
With Christmas getting closer
Some people get excited
At the thought of spending quality time
With those duly invited
So, the big cats in their ivory towers
With pound signs in their eyes
Are determined to drum up business
By sewing seeds of short supplies
It doesn’t need to be this way
If we all just stop and think
Ignore this nonsense media hype
Or we’ll end up on the brink
Don’t listen to their constant chat
Just buy what you really need
There’s plenty for all, if we keep our cool
For we all have mouths to feed
Christmas is more than material things
It’s where precious memories are made
Time spent together is priceless
Gifts out of stock, just delayed
