A Poem for Ukraine
A Poem for Ukraine
How do you write a poem about evil, about murder, about shooting?
How do you write a poem about war crimes, about missiles, about Putin?
How do you write a poem about children trapped underground with no food or water,
Or comfort a father who has lost his one daughter?
How do you raise a flag, speak to a crowd, rally the troops, shout out loud,
Make a difference to those who are still walking tall, whose spirit is strong, but we hear their sad call?
In the name of freedom, we must stand together, against evil, injustice, our shared endeavour
Our unified cry reaches out to their pain, we send strength and love to our friends in Ukraine
