A Happy Land
A Happy Land
I’m looking for a happy land where everything is bright.
Where life is calm and peaceful and fills me with delight.
Where a summer’s gentle breeze feels like a soft caress.
Where very simple things bring simple happiness.
I’m looking for a happy land where everything is bright.
Where I am slowly awakened by the early morning light
Where I can look forward to each brand-new shining day.
Where we may play like mice, when the scary cat’s away.
I’m looking for a happy land where everything is bright.
Where sleep is guaranteed and bed bugs never bite.
Where people politely listen to each others point of view.
Where you can have your cake, and you can eat it too.
I’m looking for a happy land where everything is bright.
Where in my lover’s eyes I am a pleasing sight.
Where her quiet voice is like music to my ears.
Where, as I hush and listen, I am close to silly tears
I’m looking for a happy land where everything is bright.
Where lives are not ruined by dementia’s bloody blight.
Where I am not for ever at dementia’s beck and call.
Where my loved one’s fate is not written on the wall.
