Private Home HelpsMy way of thinking is that home helping is just general housekeeping and doesn't warrant £25 an hour.........and if there are 2 friends attending they probably chat and faff around rather than do any hard grafting.........if it was £20/£25 per hour between them I'd say that was fair but each is an outrage. It doesn't seem right to me to take £50 per hour from anyone for doing a bit of housework for them! I'm sure a proper firm wouldn't charge £50 per hour!ViewDate:

Being AloneIt's for learning there are all sorts of courses. I looked up U3A and it says there is no minimum age but it's aimed at people who have finished full time work and bringing up family who still want to learn new things!ViewDate:

Being AloneSerendipity41 at least you had your son I was totally on my own. I too am an introvert and it makes life so difficult. I do hope you make it to your group meeting. I'm still looking for groups etc local to myself which I could join. Trouble is I am full of good intentions but lack the follow through to actually go! I like walking in a group as you can walk and chat or just walk with very little chat if you feel overwhelmed. Right now the weather is not favourable for walking so there is a bit of a lull until spring.ViewDate:

Being AloneI feel your pain as I am just the same. I struggle with social situations and I put my name down for social events then find any excuse to remove my name from the list. I have private chatted with one member of this site and was pretty horrified when he admitted that he was married. Although in actual fact he was doing nothing wrong just chatting to a female member I felt that he was in some way disrespecting his wife. I would not like it if my husband was chatting to a single female online! Just spent the loneliest Christmas and New Year in my whole life and dearly want to change my solitary life! I have to get myself out there and socialise but can I do so?ViewDate:

Energy tarrifsI looked at this very recently as my Gas tariff was ending soon. The only ones which gave me much of a saving were little unknown companies so I chose to stay with my dual fuel provider for the next year.
