When do you celebrate Twelfth Night? We have always taken our Christmas Decorations down on 5th January, not for any particular reason, religious or mystical. It is just something I learnt from my parents over 50 years lol.ViewDate:

Will you set a New Year's resolution?Where did the tradition of New Year Resolutions originate? I used to make NY Resolutions but realized if I wanted to make a lifestyle change to my life I should do it anytime.ViewDate:

Are you a fan of I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!?When this programme first aired it was amusing and challenging but over the years I have come to detest Ant and Dec. It makes me sick the way they laugh at others eating God knows what to get a meal for the camp. Now, if THEY too part in a few Bushtucker trials I might respect them more.ViewDate:

Deliberate ReposeI don't often get time to read all that is to be shared on Silver Surfers so often get to read your lovely and often amusing poems long after they have appeared. Keep up the good work as I am sure many many of others also enjoy your words. I have submitted a few of my own poems but they tend to be a bit long, more like stories in verse than poetry. Thanks again and look forward your next.ViewDate:

Has Theresa May's power evaporated?Well said Lionel, we need more like you. I do not fear the Germans. However, they appear to be the ruling force in the EU at the moment, and it is said that he who pays the piper calls the tune. I only hope a few more euro-countries realise that it is not the UNION that we envisaged when we ( I didn't) agreed to join the common market.ViewDate:

Has Theresa May's power evaporated?I have just spent the last half hour reading all the comments from other senior citizens regarding the recent election. Whilst I accept that it was NOT necessary and was a test by TM to determine the strength or weakness of Brexit.....I am more confused now then I was before I started reading the replies! However, it is done, the horse as bolted and the cat as spilt the milk....so we have got on with it and face and PLAN for the future. All I hear so far is doom and gloom. My only concern right now is not more taxes but the possible result of Brexit which could unless dealt with properly and efficiently bring chaos to Britain. On the positive side were British......or are we?ViewDate:

Should Theresa May join Jeremy Corbyn tonight in the TV debate? She should not take part in this debate for the simple reason it will end up, as usual, with participants all slagging each other off and ignoring questions that are important to the general public. She will be slagged off for cutting back on defence spending and cutting back on police numbers...and others will use the recent tragic events to attack the conservatives....even the fact that no proof has been given that the reduction in police officers would have made any difference to the murderous attacks anyway! I am NOT a conservative by the way!ViewDate:

Who will you vote for in the next General Election?Conservatives don't have all the answers, but Corbyn doesn't even know the question. Get rid of him and replace him with someone who actually understands us, the people. I voted Labour for over 50 years but not in the last two elections. I think Ms May has the strongest party strength and regarding Brexit, she is fighting for US.ViewDate:

Putting Old on HoldIt was 20 years ago that I was in my 50's and they were good days andI never felt my age....but time has taken it toll and I am now feeling my age at 70. Good for those however who have the strength to remain feeling young.ViewDate:

Are you worried about someone you love, but can’t always be there for them?Sounds a reasonably inexpensive piece of equipment for peace of mind. Both my partner and I are disabled and retired and rarely apart. We also have an emergency alarm pendant that is linked to the local Council Alarm System.ViewDate:

Should MPs have more than one job?MP's should have had prior experience of actually working for a living prior to being nominated to be one's representative in government. Once elected they should do the job for which they were elected, to the best of their ability. However from what I see sand read they tend to be lacking in ability.,,,,common sense or care. All they care about is their inflated wage at the end of every month. Some even get paid for NOT attending meetings!ViewDate:

How many portions of fruit and veg do you eat each day?I have to be honest I have never been a healthy eater and very occasionally do I eat my five a day. However, at my age I think I am beyond worrying about it. There are so many foods around these days that they say is bad for you that I wonder just what I can or cant eat to maintain a healthy diet. Sorry but that's just my personal opinion.ViewDate:

How low?You raise a very important attitude to an ever increasing problem. Whilst we have to accept that some men 'choose' to live on the street there are hundreds perhaps thousands of others who live rough through no wish of their own. A well written piece.ViewDate:

Don't WorryThis was obviously written by a lady for a lady but 90% of the situations you mention in the poem can also refer to men...it made interesting reading and was thought provoking especially as I am in the Winter of my life. Not sure when Autumn years ended mind you!ViewDate:

Should parents in Britain be banned from smacking their children?I am a 70 Yr old ex-navy veteran and have always believed that discipline brings respect. I am one of 8 children and yes we were smacked when we were children but we knew the reason why as it was always fully explained why. We were never smacked or hit out of anger from one of our parents. As a father and then step father I treated my own children the same way. I honestly feel that it is the Namby Pamby state that we live in which allows children to grow up long before they should do. Parents are often both at work so the child is left to its own devices. A smack on the bottom or the leg does not mean the child will grow up with anger....which may explain why children grow up with no respect....for their peers and more important for themselves.ViewDate:
