Son's wedding (not invited)Talk to him and tell him how you feel, this is going to affect your future relationship so take the bull by the horns and let him know that you are upset. It sounds like she is controllng the show, leaving you out is heartless.ViewDate:

TemperatureCardigans and jumpers first, if that doesnt work the heating will go on, it doesnt take long before I feel as though I am suffocating and have to turn it off, I live in a well insulated place.ViewDate:

UKPCI have sympathy with you, after leaving my sons car the badge fell on the floor, I disputed it and was let off, I think you are being let off light with £15, I know thats still a lot of money but I would pay it as I had to pay for not displaying mine on a hospital car park, I was parked in a disabled spot and just forgot as I knew I had to pay for parking, I just didnt give it a thought till I saw the ticket, it cost me a reduced fee of £35.ViewDate:

Tablet vs LaptopI also have a desktop, mine is now 11 years old so you can imagine that soon it will need replacing, it has served me well as it is doing now with a proper keyboard etc, loads of wires, what will be my next one, a desktop of course. I will have to get one before they become obsolete.ViewDate:

What book are you currently reading? One of the most enjoyable books that I have read is HER BENNY by Silas K Hocking, its a tale of hardship in Victorian Liverpool, its a difficult book to get hold of now, the price on the cover £1.80.ViewDate:

What book are you currently reading?I am reading SMALL ISLAND by ANDREA LEVY, its an award winning book and makes you stop to think about immigrants after WW2, I wasn't sure about it but as the book goes on its quite funny yet moving at the same time now I find it difficult to put down.ViewDate:

Are you a Grandparent?I was 60 and I sure was ready for the role, its a pity that my grandchildren are so far away, they are now 8, 4 and 5 months, I hardly get to see them and feel that I am missing so much.ViewDate:

The 60s ... What did like best about the 60s?The sixties were a special time, being young and carefree, starting work age 15 then after a year moving on to another job, living in Liverpool there were so many jobs on offer, walking out of one on a Friday and starting another on a Monday. We had the fashions and the music and the best part was falling in Love, although it didn't last it was a fun time, working in a factory during the day , rushing home for tea and a bath then working in a club in town in the evening, walking home if you saw someone who was drunk or homeless you would get a cheery wave and a shout of " goodnight" this would not happen now, boundless energy, what a shame that we have to age.ViewDate:

New to SilversurfersHi, I am also new to this site and don't know what to expect, I am 68 but feel like 48, having been retired for 8 years I decided to make a move as my children had left home, silly mistake I thought I was doing the right thing wanting to live nearer to my sisters, having moved away from all the neighbours that I had shared many happy moments I find I am isolated, I would like to find someone to chat to now and again, this is what I would like from this site.ViewDate:

Long distance grandparentingHi, I am new to this website, you are the first person I have chatted to. My Daughter also lives in Canada, I was there in March to be with her for the birth of my grandson, I had hoped that she would have him early so that I could spend a bit of time with them, however he was born on 17th March so I only got to stay with them for 10 days, it was heartbreaking to have to come home but I do get updated with photos on Facebook and am able to chat to her, its not the same as being there to give a cuddle, maybe next year I will be able to afford another visit, I do have a son in England who has given me a grandson and granddaughter, I only get to see them once every 6/7 weeks, I hope you are soon blessed with more children to lavish some love on.ViewDate:
