New to site. Looking for interesting people for penpal onlyThat must be a nice area, is it? We have a programme on our TV network called Gardeners World, it's hosted by Monty Don who you may have heard of. Last week (Friday) the programme aired a video from someone in the states, I thing perhaps Oregon who grows seeds in cut and re-taped together plastic milk bottle, apparently giving protection and a start to seeds / early seedlings who otherwise would not survive the local weather. May be your weather is totally different and this would be of no use to you but it's always interesting to know of others solutions, isn't it.?ViewDate:

Boost your health and wellbeing with swimmingI'm quite lucky I suppose but as a regular swimmer I notice my hair is a bit dry. I've used regular good conditioners and that helps a bit but recently I got some Argan Oil hair mask and that really does make a difference. Of course you are not only washing out the chlorine from the pool if like me you go two or three times a week and wash and dry your hair at the pool you are exposing your hair to heat damage as well as the chlorine factor. I do try minimal washing and conditioner and even use Vitapoint which is as old as the hills and that helps a bit . To other swimmers this might be helpful advice.ViewDate:

Solo holidaysI used to ride horses their are lots of riding holidays . I went to Northumbria area several times. Combine it with a trip in Durham if you can . If you get the weather their is really no finer place to go. Any hobbies you do can probably be extended into a holiday format, being with like minded people is the key. And you'll probably meet lots of others like yourself or not LOL. Solo holidays are often a bit more expensive but worth it. Have fun whatever you doViewDate:

Silversurfers Forum: "How To" GuideIts been a beautiful sunrise and the weather looks set fair for the next week or more. Remember to water your plants people. I've done my orchids indoors this morning . I'm trying to grow some cut and come again lettuce have had to start over a bit cause the reached squirrels dug up the soil in the pot just as they were getting started. But I got some fine mesh and have wrapped it around the pot so hopefully that will keep the little blighters off. Recently I made the effort to plant 3 packs of bedding I got from the market into a little patch of ground near my garage. I live in a flat so don't have a garden but the estate management gardeners don't seem to mind my efforts.. The bulbs I planted last year came up prettily and I hope everyone locally enjoyed them. I took several lots indoors for my pleasure. I cut two rose stems the other day and they are on my windowsill as I'm typing this. Along with an orchid stem I cut off. I got some vanilla pods in a glass tube I kept and put the orchid stem in that within a vase I filled with water retaining crystals and some green dye powder. The orchids on the stem are white with burgundy splodges and look pretty. Its not unusual to have a stem of flowers last a month or more so you can't say you don't get your money's worth.. Orchids don't require the attention a lot of people think they do., watering ever 7-10 days is fine and a little feed. a pot of that will last you 'forever'. Have a lovely weekend everyone and enjoy the summer sun,. But wear high factor sun screen and a hat if you need one and be aware of the necessity to drink some water. Get out there and get some Vitamin D whilst you can for free.ViewDate:

Will you continue to use scented candles? All I use is an old air freshener bottle which has a plastic conical top I fill the bottle with a mix of water and Zoflora. There's a cotton type wick to take the liquid into the top bit. I'm not allowed candles since I had a fire in my flat 6 years ago.ViewDate:
