Should cannabis be legalised for recreational use?I don't have an issue with anyone using it for medical purposes but I am concerned that if it was legalised for recreational purposes would there be a significant increase in users. How would businesses monitor staff usage? How competent are people under the influence? What about car drivers? Will there be a limit as with alcohol?ViewDate:

Will you still buy mohair, cashmere, silk and feather products?I believe there is a difference in killing animals to eat and killing and mistreating them in the name of vanity. I do eat meat a couple of times a week so maybe it is a bit hypocritical of me to say I wouldn't buy mohair, cashmere etc because animals are mistreated. I am not an animal lover in fact I have a phobia against all animals but I don't think that with all the advances in producing man made materials it is necessary to use animal fur and skin.ViewDate:

The English question: What is the nation's identity?I am English when speaking to a Brit, British when speaking to someone from another country or I say I am from the UK. We must be the only country who feels uncomfortable flying our own flags both the England & Union Jack. Unfortunately the flags became the symbols of the National Front and BMP and I for one would not have wanted to fly a flag and be associated with them.ViewDate:

Is too much made of going vegetarian and vegan?Being vegan, vegetarian or a meat eater is a choice. I don't really need to know of your choice unless I am preparing a meal for you. Why in today's society is it so important to label everything. I don't eat pork purely because I don't like it but I don't feel the need to tell everyone. Labelling people plays a part in discrimination. We should be working towards an equal society where everyone can be what they are without having to justify themselvesViewDate:

Do Millennials deserve £10K for doing nothing?I agree that the assumption that older people can afford to pay more to subsidise the younger generation is wrong. In fact I would assume that only a very small percentage could. My issue is that young people haven't asked for this money. I dislike the generalisation that they are lazy.i dont agree with giving 10k to them only the comments sbout the young. Not from you Jeanmark you are always very fair and insightful with your comments. Most of us have struggled over the years to build a home without help from the government and that will always be the case. If parents can afford to help out that is great if not then they will just have to get on with it as we did.ViewDate:

Do Millennials deserve £10K for doing nothing?Putting the £10k to one side most of the comments are saying younger people want everything for nothing, are lazy and do not want to work. I am not sure where you are meeting these youngsters. The majority of young people I know as friends of my children and also as work colleagues differ very much to this opinion. More than half are working at least two jobs to pay for high private rentals and also trying to save for a house deposit. On top of this they are having to pay student loans. One work colleague leaves home at 7am to get to work for 8:30. At 5pm he leaves to go to his 2nd job which he leaves at 11pm. He works every other weekend. He and many others do this to build a future for themselves. They havent asked for the £10k and I don't think putting down the younger generation is very constructive. They are a product of us. If their ideas and work ethic is not up to everyone's high standards maybe we should look at ourselves as we are the ones responsible for their upbringing.ViewDate:

Do Millennials deserve £10K for doing nothing?I would vote no however I would say that maybe I would look at things differently if I was a millennial. When I left school grants were available for education. I purchased my council house at a heavily discounted price and managed to progress further up the housing ladder. I have worked all my life to get what I have but if mobile phones, gadgetry and cheap holiday offers were available I would probably wanted them as being an every day necessity in life. I don't agree that giving away £10000 to all 25 year olds would solve any issues but before we label these young people as wanting everything for nothing and not being prepared to save for their future remember that we created this environment of plenty for most they have never known not having central heating, they have never shared a bedroom with a sibling nor have they ever experienced life without all the kitchen gadgets and modern technology. They cannot be criticised for wanting what they have had all there lives. The criticism should go to the bright spark who dreamt up this ideaViewDate:

Would you move into a retirement home?I would prefer to stay in my own home but it will all depend on circumstance. If when the time comes I am struggling to get out and about I would consider sheltered accommodation as they have communal areas which would combat loneliness. I am hoping I don't have to go into a Care home. However if it is a choice of going into a home or my children having to give up their time to look after me then I would chose a home as I wouldn't want to be a burden on themViewDate:

Would you want a home DNA test to reveal your risk of illness? We are always asked if there are any illnesses that run in the family. I was adopted and don't have this information. I prefer not to know. I don't spend my time worrying that I may have inherited a disease that may affect me in later life. We are all at risk from many illnesses. I try to eat heathily and exercise to improve my general health. I have as much chance as anyone else of getting Alzheimer's or cancer and will face that if it happens. I do not want to know now that I will be get these diseases somewhere down the road and to also pass that worry on to my childrenViewDate:

Would you be prepared to pay more tax to fund the NHS?The last time I was in A&E was last year when in the middle of the night my husband developed breathing problems and a swollen tongue. I called 999 and the paramedics arrived within 5 minutes. Taken to hospital and seen and diagnosed immediately. Allergic reaction to his blood pressure medication. They treated him and monitored him fi r a few hours before letting him come home. Great service. Unfortunately for the NHS it was Freshers week. A&E was packed with young people suffering from drink and drug related issues. Police were present and nursing staff spent most of their time cleaning up vomit. The NHS is not a babysitting service, charge them for wasting valuable staff time. Also charge those who go to their GP when they have a cold. How many times do they have to be told to take paracetamol and rest. If you charged all the time wasters the NHS may have some money.ViewDate:

Would you be prepared to pay more tax to fund the NHS?I don't know why it has taken so long to come to the conclusion that we should be paying a NHS tax. The NHS has needed more money for years. I personally would like separate tax not only for the NHS but for Social Care and Education.ViewDate:

Were you in the dark about menopause?I'm still in the dark about it now and I am going through it at least I think I have for the past 10 years. I seem to have got off quite lightly as I haven't had any problems that have impacted on my daily life.. After years of always being cold I can actually get away without having the heating on all the time. I occasionally get a hot flush but that tends to be if I have been doing physical work. I've never slept well so no change there. I wouldn't say I get night sweats but I do find me feet get hot. I don't take anything for it as I don't find it a problem. I didn't know what to expect as it seems to affect everyone differently. The only women I know who have suffered have all had hysterectomies which brought on early menopause, maybe there is a connection or maybe I have just been luckyViewDate:

Should childhood vaccination be mandatory?I agree with Jeanmark on this.we should he guided by the medical profession. We should trust in their experience and knowledge. Understandably there are concerns especially with the link to autism and MMR jab. I do have a friend who didn't have her child vaccinated as a baby. Her son has Aspergers which I believe is a form of Autism. Not having a vaccination does not remove all risks and actually puts the child at more risk from childhood illnesses which are on the increase again. I remember having measles as a child and having to lie in a dark room for 2 weeks. I had school friends whose eyesight was affected as they allowed light in the room. I had my children vaccinated as I consider the risks small. I think it should be compulsory for anyone travelling abroad to have had the necessary vaccinations. Maybe there shoukd be a page in the passport for this to be recordedViewDate:

Is marriage outdated?Commitment, love and honesty is more important than a marriage licence. I've been married 32 years but we lived together for5 years prior to that. We were happy as we were but chose to get married before we had children as having children out of wedlock was still important to a lot of people back then. Overall I don't think it made any difference to our relationship but I do feel our children feel better for us being married than not. Personally I think marriage is the ultimate commitment forsaking all others and pledging to look after and care for another person for the rest if their life but I feel now maybe people feel that nothing is forever especially marriage so that bit of paper is no longer importantViewDate:

Do you think university tuition fees should be scrapped?I think the loan system should be scrapped and further education should be free. I am not in favour of means tested grants as this solely puts the responsibility of a child's education into the hands of the parents who may not be able to afford it. Just because you are just above the line for eligibility for receiving a grant does not mean you have the thousands of pounds spare. I think a University education is a wonderful thing but I'm not sure it is essential for all vocations. Of course medicine, law, science, engineering and teaching degrees should be available but many other courses could be taught at Further Education colleges or even at 6th Form. We should invest in our top professional prospects but provide better apprenticeship schemes with block release and day release optionsViewDate:

Do you think 'grid girls' should be banned in F1?I'm getting a little confused here. I know this topic is about grid girls but is the whole subject about treating women as objects to be ogled at, if so where fo you draw the line if any line is to be drawn at all. Take athletics for instance the The athletes wear different kit based on preference, some will wear the teeniest shorts and cropped top whilst others wear more modest attire. Apart from comfort there is an element of showing off their bodies. What is the difference in women ogling Daniel Craig in the sea or nen looking at Ursula Andress. It is in our nature to look at the opposite sex. Lines should be drawn for insppropriate touching and language for both msle & female. From what i've seen of hen nights and women only nights I hate to say it but womens behaviou is worseViewDate:

Do you think 'grid girls' should be banned in F1?I dont find grid girls or boxing ring girls offensive. Good luck to the girls who have been doing this for a job. It is their choice and if they have the figure and looks to do promotional work then why not. Unfortunately for me I didnt have the looks or body to snag a rich husband otherwise I would be out there with them. Promotions girls will no longer be able to work in sport or clubs of as hostesses at events I can see a rise in unemployment figuresViewDate:

How do you feel about giving money as a wedding gift?I think a number of people prefer not to give money is they feel an amount they would have spent on a gift does not look much as cash. I doubt very much that the bride and groom care that much and will understand if it is just a fiver that someone can afford. All these small amounts add up when going towards a large item or honeymoonViewDate:

How do you feel about giving money as a wedding gift?I prefer to give money then They can spend it on what they need it want rather than have a lot of items which aren't to their taste or will not be used cluttering up cupboards for years to come. To me that is a waste of money. In fact I still have a variety of glasses, decanters and table mats taking up space in the loft after. 32 years of marriage. Should teaching the National Anthem at school be compulsory?Of course it should be taught in schools. Regardless of any parents views on the Monarchy schools are public institutions and should therefore be flying the flag. Slightly off subject but does the in with what is taught in school nowadays. Should the government take a firmer stance on obesity? At the end of the day it is each individuals responsibility to control their weight. I am overweight, no one forced me to eat takeaways, chocolate and crisps in large quantities. I have been dieting lost 2 stone with 4 more to go. I blame my weak will in the past to sheer laziness, couldn't be bothered to cook after a long day at work much easier to snack and bit am I suffering for it now. Why is there a need for chocolate manufacturer's to make so many large bars or family bars of chocolate why can't they just stick to smaller individual bars. J know everyone will say it is down to self discipline but if we're a child would you rather buy a small bar if chocolate for 70p or a large family bar or bag for £1. When do you celebrate Twelfth Night?I always take my tree and decorations down on January 1st. As it is my son's birthday on 2nd January I used to like to keep the house clear of Christmas stuff so we could make it about him on his birthday. Should 'wet wipes' be banned? They are useful and shoukd not be banned. There should be a clear message on the packaging to say wipes should not be flushed down the toilet. The main Problem is not with the wipes nor manufacturer's but with the end user many who yet again accept responsibility for their actions. Even when this problem is highlighted there will be many who will continue to flush the wipes.ViewDate:

Have people forgotten the true meaning of Christmas? One other thing. Other religions should not come into this discussion. Surely it's about whether we celebrate Christmas as a holiday for the family together with the commercial aspects or whether we celebrate the birth of Jesus without the commercial trappings.ViewDate:

Have people forgotten the true meaning of Christmas?Surely Christmas is about tge celebration of Jesus. Gifts whether expensive or not should be the secondary consideration. We also use this time to come together as a family and this is true for most of us. I am as guilty as the majority in the country I treat Christmas as a chance to see my family share gifts and relax. As a non religious person I do not attend any church services and do not celebrate the true meaning. I hold my hands up and say that I am a bit of a hypocrite when I say I enjoy Christmas when I do not really think about the birth of JesusViewDate:

Is it ever OK to eat dogs?It is not something I would choose to do however if I was starving I couldnt say for definite that I wouldn't. Circumstance often governs our decisions. How do we make choices on what animals we eat? It has been mentioned that dogs are our friends do we shouldnt eat them. What about horse and rabbits? Is it more acceptable to eat baby animals such as veal and lamb? If we feel so strongly about not eating certain animals then maybe we should be looking at giving up all meatViewDate:

Should we use Happy Holidays instead of Happy Christmas?I celebrate Christmas. I do not send cards or give presents friends who do not. They in turn do not send a card or present to me when they are celebrating their religious holidays. Can we not accept that different faiths have different celebrations and just get on with things without succumbing to more commercial nonsense. Rebekah Vardy has a shellfish allergy which ruled her out of certain tasks. If you have allergies you shouldn't be there. Will you shop the Black Friday sales?I get the same emails they obviously do not discriminate on gender when sending these emails. My junk jox is full of them everyday. Emails aside I always use a cashback site whenever I am ordering online. That is I use it if it isn't going to cost me more. During sales thus can be quite benificial as you get cash back as well as thw additional discount. Boots is by far one of the best retailers to use outside if Bkack Friday. Should women still change their name when they get married?I think it should ultimately be the choice of the person who would normally give up their name when getting married but this would I assume be with the blessing of their partner. The trend nowadays is for double barrelled names but where does this stop. If you had two partners with double barrelled names and they wanted to keep both that is four names. Try fitting that on the back of a football shirt. I say either go with the husband's or keep your own, scrap double barrelled. Online forms do not cater for this . We only need one surnameViewDate:

Are you offended by the Greggs Christmas Advert?I do not hold any strong Christian beliefs but I think it is offensive to those who do. No faith should be mocked nor used for commercial gain. Again it just goes to show what the celebration of Christmas means to many. Another ad I find disturbing is the Currys ad where the parents are explaining that the family members will have to talk to each other and play games etc to find out it is a joke and have a huge tv. It is just telling kids Christmas is purely about receiving expensive presents. Even though I am not a strong believer I sometimes wish the majority of us had this faith and were less corrupted by commercialismViewDate:
