Are we being subjected to a concerted effort to limit our freedom of speech and to think critically?I agree with everything I'm seeing in this post. Covid totally destroyed trust in the medical profession among many people in this country (America).. With the "talk" of Farage, I got the feeling you were British, right?. WE, the people, not the WHO, the CDC, or any other agency or institution, decides what the truth is. Here in America, we are facing a severe crisis, as one of our political parties is deliberately destroying the 1st Amendment, while the other is going along (one party is anti-American and the other is greedy enough to agree to anything for money, except for the MAGA wing) -- so really, most of both parties are doing their best to destroy the country, and we have no one (well, almost no one) representing US. It's getting very dangerous, with Hillary Clinton last night suggesting "re-education camps" for those who question the government's point-of-view...also this week, supporters of President Trump were officially declared violent domestic terrorists. Trad Catholics are called terrorists, as are pro-lifers; they're being hauled off to jail (but illegals walk across the "border" freely. . I came here looking for someone who is either MAGA -- meaning seeing the greatness of Western civilization and wanting to save it -- or open-minded,not nasty to those with traditional ideas as many are these days, because I'm looking for a companion for a cruise. it's a political thing with a lot of discussions and activities (no one has to go to them, but that's the theme.) --only 500 people on a small ship, so none of the trips should be sold out -- and it's all inclusive, too! .It's a cruise of the British Isles hosted by a trad, American talk radio host -- witty, sharp and funny -- but only appreciated by those who share those politics or who are open-minded. It's the trip of a lifetime for me because of the politics (can hear host Chris Plante, the host, on WMAL, out of D.C., on the net; the music (Led Zep! Beatles!), lit (Tolkien! C.S. Lewis! Flatland! Lewis Carroll!), history (taught English and social studies), heritage (Dutch, German, Irish and Welsh) -- But I've had a hard time learning the site-- and looking for someone older but hopefully thinking and acting younger -- I think I do, and I guess it's 'cos I spent my 20s singing in rock-and-roll bands)...and my husband would have to share a Zoom call or three to get acquainted, too, of course, since he wouldn't exactly be mad thrilled if I went with a platonic male "companion," but after 3 years, he knows I'm not going anywhere (except to the British Isles if I'm lucky, but so far, it doesn't look that way.) Anyway, all this has very little to do with your comment, it's just that it was so refreshing to read a comment about Farage and someone worried about our losing our rights. Guess reading your comment brought something out in me. Anyway, wanted to answer your last question: YES, it is happening in America BIG TIME! So many don't pay attention and don't even know it or believe the corporate news, who are in on it and lie with no shame and think the half of the people (at least) who support Trump and traditional America are a violent mob trying to overthrow the government (Thousands are in jail as political prisoners -- do other countries even know that?). But those of us who know are praying desperately that they wake up. We are in serious trouble. Chat back if you like, and I'll no doubt send another rant or two, since it's worrying me/making me angry right now. Let me know if you know any nice older ladies (?) anywhere who'd like to join in on the cruise.. Ive opened an encrypted email at proton.me for anyone interested in it.- too bad you already live there and have prob been everywhere there is to go, since I've only had one nibble about it. And Silver Surfers--let me know here or at the other email (if they're allowed to post it) if you're interested.. Eml address is: DailyAOM@proton.me. Only those who open an account can send and receive encrypted messages there. Sorry this was so long. You are right on about covid and censorship. Take care. Jen ,ViewDate:

Looking for fellow travelerHey, I haven't been ignoring you.. As someone figuring out how this works, I assumed there would be a result to "click here" that would lead me to a page where I could respond personally. It took me a couple of weeks (along with living life and doing other things!) to realize that---uh, no, there's no such thing! So I find myself two weeks after you responded to ME, finally figuring out, that all I can do is answer in this little box and let the whole world (well, everyone signed up to this site) see our conversation. Hmmm...not exactly what I had in mind. So...yes, I would be interested in a Zoom call to talk to you, but would prefer first, if you would be willing, to exchange an email or two finding out a little about each other in writing. Zoom involves possibly talking around others., with all that entails, while a little "getting to know you" online would be just between the two of us. So I opened an encrypted email acct at proton email....I'm not particularly concerned about posting the address here for the world to see, because -- as said, it is encrypted so that no one can read it other than the person it is written to and the person responding to it (perhaps you're already familiar with this type of email acct-- it differs from the usual commercial accts only in that once you write it, no one can read it other than the ones it is addressed to and from-- my address there is: DailyAOM@proton,me, and if you're interested, start up an acct if you would, please -- just go to the proton email site; it's easy, and I'll be checking my acct there daily to see if you've responded. I've sent you a welcome email there.... If we get along, then we can graduate to Zoom calls; is that acceptable? I'd love to -- truthfully, I had given up on getting to go at all, even tho' it's the dream of a lifetime for me! Hope to hear from you soon, Jen at proton email., ..ViewDate:

Looking for a cruise companion - [DELETED_MEMBER]Hi, Haha...Turns out my original post was deleted (long story!). Yes, that is the only cruise I am interested in. (You may have seen reply just posted. today.) I am a total newbie with cruises, interested in heritage, current events, history, and scholarly pursuits, and had pretty much given up on being able to consider this cruise at all, as since finding out about it, had not been able to find anyone of like mind who would consider sharing cabin costs. Lovely to see that I did get a reply and sorry for not writing in response sooner...I had pretty much given up on the idea and figured it was going to be in the "wish-not-fulfilled" category.. At any rate, I am now finding out -- just today -- that my original post was deleted (as I had suggested weeks ago, when I wrote to moderators asking how to edit it, and they said I could just start over) and your reply was in my spam folder. So I wrote the earlier reply a few minutes ago and then found your second response also in my spam folder. Hoping you receive both of these. Let me know if you do, and if you are interested at all. Details found easily by searching "Chris Plante Cruise of the British Isles July 2024." It's not for everyone, but if it looks like it's for you, do let me know. I'll keep an eye on my spam folder more closely from now on and not let time go by like this again in case you reply!ViewDate:

Looking for fellow travelerGot a kind comment asking if I would be interested in a QM transatlantic cruise, and apologies -- still figuring out how the site works -- said "click here to respond," and when I click on the link, it sends me here, not to that comment! So-- this is in response to that kind invitation, which I do appreciate. The thing is, I'm not interested in just any cruise and frankly, not financially up for it--- this one I mentioned, the Chris Plante Cruise of the British Isles, scheduled for July 2024, is a once-in-a-lifetime thing, an inclusive political cruise hosted by a talk radio host out of Washington, D.C. I'm interested not only in the "British Isles" aspect of it, but also in the political part, as CP is someone I'm very politically akin to -- this is a small (under 500 people) cruise full of political discussions and activities along with the heritage and cultural excursions, and something I'd love to do, but can only afford if I was to find a like-minded independent female to share cabin costs with. But thanks so much for thinking of me. And the offer still holds, if there are other MAGA folks out there who would like to take advantage of a once-in-a-lifetime style cruise (heh, before Western civilization disapears, the way it is looking)... -ViewDate:

Looking for fellow travelerDefinitely not "somewhere hot" --- but looking for someone to share cabin costs for all-inclusive cruise of British Isles summer 2024.....not only credit for spending onboard, and but free excursions-galore -- think King Arthur-Tolkien-Bravehear and Eng, Scot, Irish & Welsh history/culture galore w/endless freebies included! If only interested in beaches, not good, but AM the same independent, go-my-own-way type....small ship, so filling up now.. Heh, have been gung-ho --posted 3 x's today--will just leave this up for now -- like-minded females reply...ViewDate:

Looking for a cruise companion - [DELETED_MEMBER]Nice to see that this thread is active with many comments. For myself, I just can't afford the option of taking a cabin all on my own, and no solo cabins are offered. Also, I don't have the option of waiting for last-minute offers, as this is a one-time only specialty cruise. I welcome any comments/suggestions you friendly people have!ViewDate:

Looking for a cruise companion - [DELETED_MEMBER]Do you have interest in the Chris Plante Cruise of the British Isles 10 days in July 2024? I am like you except for the "well-travelled" part;. This is a smaller ship; it is all-inclusive and full of historical excursions.. Excuse -- still figuring out this site and how to figure out replies -- will check back here and my own site to see if response..
