Should Theresa May stay or go?I actually think, and I never thought that I would ever say this, that THIS labour party can do it they have learned from the errors of "new Labour " and Blair and we need a party that are not bought and sold by big business and the press. Sounds to me like most folk on here are fairly comfortably off and they cannot bring themselves to have any regard for the worse off in our society, I work (voluntarily) in my community for the community, I come home and cry sometimes because I can only do so much :( This is NOT what I read in the press, see on the news this is what I see even in this small rural village where I live. My daughter lives in Manchester and has done for 20 years, we used to see a few homeless, so few that we knew some of them and when my dad died we distributed some of his clothes and shoes amongst them. Now ! whichever direction I walk there are more and more it breaks my heart and this increase has all been during the Tory reign. This, them and us. has to stop !! we are all humans for gods sakeViewDate:

Should Theresa May stay or go?Not sure that I ought even to be part of this group with the amount of Tories there are on this thread !! The press and the BBC attempted to annihilate Jeremy Corbyn, tales of dirty deeds with the Irish all through the election at every opportunity AND THEN after being unable to win Maybot joins forces with the evil DUP and you lot and your ilk stick your fingers in your ears and go into lala land. Now because the press are actually printing what they saw at the conference and on subsequent TV interviews you are all up in arms !! Beggars belief ! The people of Manchester were HORRIFIED that the Tories had their conference in their city and rightly so !! Do you actually know just how depleted the Tory party membership has become? If you are a member then you can go and look at just how many have left the party and there are none joining to replace them !! I will never vote for them again because of the way their policies have adversely affected the people in my community, hard working people who are having to resort to food banks! including nurses, paramedics, fire officers. Are you all so selfish that you cannot see the wood for the trees!! or do you only care about yourselves ? yet the Tories gave themselves an 11% pay rise !! Do you think that after bringing the pound to an all time low, destroying our reputation world wide and indeed making us a laughing stock that they and particularly HER! should be in power?ViewDate:

Should all cats wear a bell-collar?I was a cat owner but I honestly believe that they should be kept in, they are by the thousands of people who own them but live in flats. In fact the eldest of ours belonged to our daughter who, when she moved out, took him with her. We worried that he wouldn't adapt to living in an enclosed environment but he took to it like a duck to water!! He died last year aged 17 (a long life for a pedigree cat) and was happy to the end. Ours never seemed to kill birds, probably because of the large bells on their collars!! they did bring in frogs, mice, voles etc most of which were still alive I might add!! and on a number of occasions the eldest brought in live, small bats! All of these creatures were returned to the outside and seen on their merry way.ViewDate:

Should all cats wear a bell-collar?We always had safety releases on our cat collars, they often came home without them but never any injuries from wearing them. We always got them with the biggest, loudest bell that we could find too. We have no cats now but if I was ever tempted to get another it would definitely be a house cat as I don't like other cats from the neighbour hood coming to into my garden to do their business. Neither do I like them the killing birds that I encourage to be in my garden! Our cats had litter trays in the house and they also used a patch at the back our garden as a toilet too, so I felt, at the time, that they were doing everything at home. I am not so sure now with the amount of cat mess that I have had to deal with when gardening so now I have cat deterrent paint on the top of my fences and other substances on my pebble gardens to keep them away!ViewDate:

Is recognising 'gender neutral' going to get complicated? But its not as simple as that !! my friends child was born with both male and female organs for instance!! The choice had to be made as to whether the child would be male or female!! what if they made mistake ? and everything about the child proved to be the opposite to what was chosen ?? So later in life they decide to reverse that choice of which they had no control and the bigots (male or female) say what you are saying? As a matter of fact I know some transsexuals that are a lot prettier than some women born as women do how do you judge who is what ? Would you know the difference or would you be side eyeing everyone?ViewDate:

Is recognising 'gender neutral' going to get complicated? That is silly, we already use unisex toilets here and abroad. I go to several excellent restaurants in Manchester where this is the case and it has never caused me a problem. I am almost 70 so don't believe that it is just a new fangled idea to worry us !! Its the media blowing things up out of all proportion and causing issues where there are none just more bigotryViewDate:

Should Inheritance Tax be abolished?I have just been discussing this with my daughter and we both believe that, with property prices being so high the level should be set at Ā£1,000,000 rather than Ā£350,000 as it is now!! We won't be leaving anywhere near that amount but never the less Ā£350,000 is too low!! Hammer the rich guys but not those who bought their homes wiselyViewDate:

Are we in danger of diluting our Christmas traditions? Its commercialism that is stealing our Christmas NOT immigration!! I wonder what the people in all the countries that millions of Brits have moved to think about our celebrations in their lands?? Ask your children if they teach their children the true meaning of Christmas? How many of them will attend a church service over the 12 days of Christmas? Have they tried getting their children to think what they can give to someone worse of than themselves instead of making long lists of what THEY want for themselves? ALL of the schools in this area still perform the nativity, the Asian children on my street take part too in their school along with the Polish, Italian, Chinese, etc etc the kids love it :D The Charity shops still have the nativity scenes in their windows here as do most shops. Where are all these places that don't do all of these things I have yet to find any I believe that this is all put about by those who would wish to create issues where there are none sadly.ViewDate:

Are you dreaming of a white Christmas?I lived in an area where we regularly got "snowed in" until I was in my 30's :D loved it. Where I live now (Lancashire) we rarely have any great amount of snow and what we do doesn't really stay around for long!! I miss the snow and the eerie silence of walking down a lane with drifts higher than me on either side arrrrrrrrr the memoriesViewDate:

Are you concerned about your weight?I have degenerative disc disease, severe Oesteoarthritis, have had one hip replaced and the other one will need replacing soon !! Despite all of this I walk my Border Collie, briskly, for at least an hour everyday, do Yoga weekly and 40 minutes of aerobic exercise most days. I have had operations on my spine that made it worse but sitting around feeling sorry for myself is not an option!! The ONLY way to keep ALL of these issues bearable is to keep my weight down. I don't "diet" as such but do have a very healthy diet, I never eat ready prepared food, I make everything from scratch so I know exactly what is in the food that I am eating. I do go out to eat occasionally and enjoy doing that but even then I am careful what I eat, avoiding chips so that I can have some dessert for instance. Reading this back it sounds like I am obsessed but in reality I am trying to have less strain on my skeletal frame in order to lessen my pain which does not work if I am overweight!!ViewDate:

Dear SantaIt is many years now since my parents died both lived to a good age as did my inlaws, my fatherin law dying this year aged 96. My brother in law died on Christmas eve 11 years ago, long before his time, swiftly followed by my daughters father in law, again long before his time and then my lovely big sister. We are a family that "gathers" for Christmas, for birthdays and the usual hatchings and matchings!! at this time of the year and for our birthdays we hate that the table we need is smaller. Every little thing, every memory, moves me to tears but it is cathartic thank you for your lovely poemViewDate:

Will you be sending Christmas cards this year?We do not all celebrate in a crass and vulgar way !! I love to keep the traditions of my family alive through all the generations. I am a grandmother to 7 and great grandmother to 3 the eldest being 11 years old. Father Christmas brings the simple gifts which he takes to all the children mum and dad buy other things which are a little more costly but nothing is ever over the top!! A fairy visits the house to check that all are being good and she reports back to Father Christmas on their behaviour !! I LOVE the look on their faces when I tell them this and when we read every year the story that begins "Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house nothing was stirring not even a mouse...................My relatives in Sweden celebrate in the same way as we do but with Christmas Eve being the most important. One should never generalise about things such as thisViewDate:

Should drivers over 70 be tested every three years?Whilst I agree that more accidents are caused but idiot drivers using their phones etc whilst driving i do agree that our reactions slow down as we age. We should be tested regularly after a certain age this is the law in some countries particularly Australia where my father in law had to be assessed was told to change to an automatic vehicle and eventually only allowed to drive for restricted distances i.e. to church, the post office, the supermarket, market etc and then after a small accident in which no other vehicle was involved he had his licence taken away -
