Should all GP appointments go online?I would hope that GP,'S and practice staff would have the ability to identify on their systems those patients for whom on-line appointments are not suitable. For others if after an initial appt requires a face to face meeting the GP will do that and not send you off to hospital immediately. As usual change seems to unnerve people but not all change is good or bad,ViewDate:

Are you hoping to go on holiday this summer or are you feeling hesitant? No plane journeys for me.Fortunate to live within easy traveling distance of the Highlands and Islands the Lakedistrict and many other interesting places in Britain .So many people don't see the beauty on there own door steps now would be a good time to do so and support our tourism industry.ViewDate:

Should controversial statues around the country be removed? To me the lesson here for our children is that people who did bad things can go on and do good things History remains even if the statues don't let's face it yesterday is history and can't be changed but can be learnt from.ViewDate:

Is cooking in lockdown a joy or a chore?Cooking is certainly both a joy and a chore depending on my mood. The advantage of living alone is there is no need to cook if you don't want to or if you do and experiment no one but you had to suffer the disasters or has the pleasure of your successesViewDate:

Have the Government got it wrong with face masks advice?Nobody I think is arguing that all key workers need the appropriate mask for the job they are doing. The question is whether it is beneficial or necessary for the general public. If scientists can not agree on this subject and after listening to both opinions for and against wearing them I am still undecided certainly if I was using public transport I would wear one other wise I continue to socially distance and frequent hand washing. At the moment the decision is ours.ViewDate:

Should WW2 veteran NHS fundraiser Tom Moore be knighted?Truly charitable people give their time and energy freely with no desire for recognition or awards Captain Tom has been catapulted into the public eye and I"m sure would be honoured to receive a knighthood but we must remember that their are others who admittedly don"t raise million's but donate anonymously and they all deserve our thanksViewDate:

General grumble about kids todayYes as are we all.I don't have experience of today's teenagers but we are all a product of the times we grew up in.Personally the comparison to our younger days only serve to make us nostalgic generalisations only serve to deminish the abilities and talents of many teenagers. Not all skills are academic consider the young carers caring for parents during the Lockdown Unfortunately we are where we are and look forward to the future when today's teenagers will be tomorrows adults who"s view of life will have been influenced by the actions and reactions of the world to the pandemic.ViewDate:

Do our modern Hi-Tech children miss out on learning basic life skills?I do agree with much of what you say .Patticularly parents on phones ignoring their children. It should become socially unacceptable to use phones in shops cafes . Emergency use of phones can be a life saver what age children are given a phone is another dabate.I still think it is a parents responsibility to.teach cooking skills which of course involves personal safety Tools I m not familiar with their use but the range is vast I can however use a screwdriver and a hammer and day to.day that's all I.require.You will be surprised to.hear that my fire safety training. as a support worker was done on line was comprehensive and ultimately I could on a night shift be responsible alone for evacuating four vulnerable adults or making the decisions to leave them in rooms where fire doors.protected them for twenty minutes Fortunately the situation didn't arise but it illustrates the importance of support staff and the faith their company's have in on line learning.ViewDate:

Do our modern Hi-Tech children miss out on learning basic life skills?Probably in some regards. Education needs to be relevant to current times and future employment requirements. My daughter was at the start of tech subjects being taught in school. She is now 40 with daughters aged 10 and. 2 .The difference in the curriculums between my daughter and granddaughter is vast.My granddaughter is a digital leader which means once she has been taught in a small group she can then help other class mates with their computer work.Whereas my daughter learnt spreadsheets in college and my granddaughter in primary 5. Yes there is a lack of teaching in practical skills but parents and grandparents can teach these If in doubt people can always look online for guidance to complete many tasks. Particularly now we need to look to the future yes learn from the past but don't live in it.ViewDate:

Unfortunately O no longer live in a village but an estate on the outskirts of Dumfries but there's not many pretty villages nearby but some nice coastal onedViewDate:

Are you worried about Interest Rates for savers and pension funds?Penny puss It depends how you look at things We have already got lawlessness on and streets and in our parks by people sunbathing who ever thought that would be a crime. If things are anywhere near normal by Christmas yes consumerism will. run riot but surely it will be a time to celebrate for some and just remember it will be a first Christmas without a particular love one there's no normal and there never was. We are all individuals living life the best we can and despairing of those who think they are above the law but consumerism is not exactly a crime only undesirable.ViewDate:
