ChatHello. I live alone and must admit am feeling lonely right now. I love walking and this has kept me sane throughout these strange times. I have done all those jobs around the house I kept meaning to get round to and have finished all the painting. It’s getting harder to fill the time now. I live in an apartment with no outside space so get out as much as I can. Being able to go out more than once a day has helped. Hopefully this will not go on for much longer though it will feel strange to be able to go out for something to eat or the cinema. At least you have the cat to talk to. Haha.ViewDate:

Lockdown specialsYou are so right David. I hate food waste. I live alone on a budget and cook healthy and tasty meals. Found it difficult at first cooking for one but have got the hang of it now. If I cook a dish from fresh i often make too much and freeze leftovers for another day. I always look in the fridge and think what can I make out of this and that. I have a small slow cooker, just right for one, and cook up some great soups and casseroles. Nothing is wasted here. I love baking and just yesterday made a batch of ‘Betty’s Fat Rascals’ (recipe on Lavendar and Lovage website). I freeze these separately and take one out of freezer now and again to have with a good cup of tea.ViewDate:

Hello in the LockdownHi Ellie I also live alone and I make sure I go for one walk a day as this really does help. I walk alone obviously and so do a lot of other people. I am new to the area I now live in so don’t know anybody but people smile or say hello. A lovely couple spoke to me yesterday, just general chit chat, I don’t think they realise how much that means to someone. Felt less alone. Make sure you get that walk in especially in the lovely weather we are expecting. I can’t understand ‘funny looks’ what is wrong with people. Maybe they will realise not everybody has somebody! Take careViewDate:

Should plant nurseries and growers be allowed to sell their plants? This is the busiest time of year for the nurseries. All their hard work will be destroyed. They say over a third of nurseries in the UK will go bust. I don’t see why they can’t open if social distancing rules are applied. It will save people’s livelihood and do so much to help boost morale in these very difficult times.ViewDate:

Are you getting dressed for social distancing?Hello I’m a newbie. I live alone in an apartment so no outside space. I volunteer in a charity shop which is now closed of course so feeling quite isolated. Cabin fever setting in now. I make sure I get dressed every day. It is so easy to lose your motivation. I go for a walk each day whatever the weather. How is everybody else coping?
