JulieMayger's bio
A mature free spirit! I have travelled extensively and had a varied but sound career path. I am a professional pet sitter working (when the virus allows) in and around London.
I currently live in Worthing, having returned to the UK in 2013 after 15 years in South Africa. I am widowed, no children, and am an animal / nature lover. I like the sun!
I have self-published two fiction books (quirky crime) on Amazon - Tied To A Tree and Phobia. I have had factual work published in the past and am currently busy with a non-fiction book. And of course I enjoy writing short stories.

Is a second national lockdown for vulnerable over 50s the right way forward?Really tired of all this ageist 'made up on the spot' claptrap and people being made to feel likes clones in an eggbox. Everyone is unique and there is no age limit to health and wellbeing, nor to how long you work for - and maybe, like me, needing to work. If BJ wants people to stay indoors because they are over 50, he'd better get himself inside pronto. The government put up the State Pension age to 66+ because people are fitter, healthier and living longer, then come up with an absurd plan like this. Talk about mixed messages; they are complicit in their own downfall.ViewDate:

The Secret BluebellsHi Peter, Thanks. I contacted the Ed who said she wants nostalgia / humour so I guess I will stick to that. I actually like writing speculative fiction, paranormal and quirky type stories. And murder / crime (trying to get a book published). I have another short story that I have nearly finished - written in the first person again but told as a man! JulieViewDate:

The Secret BluebellsGood morning Sally, Again, thanks for the great photo of bluebells. I was delighted and pleasantly surprised that my short story was so favourably received by many Silversurfers' readers. I have written quite a lot of short stories. A lot are speculative fiction, some paranormal, humour, etc. I don't want to swamp you with them, but wondered about submitting any more? Also, is there is a particular genre that you prefer for your website? Best, JulieViewDate:

The Secret BluebellsI am pleased you enjoyed it. It finishes there I'm afraid, but I have written quite a lot of other short stories, including humour and paranormal. Thanks, Julie.ViewDate:

The Secret BluebellsHi Yodama, It is a piece of made-up fiction. It's just a story (not real). I am pleased you liked it. Thanks, Julie -
