Are you happy to remain opted-in for organ donation?Definitely. Have always carried a donor card and registered on line when that facility was brought out. Also include those instructions in my Will - though that is a bit after the event.ViewDate:

Would you ‘Bung a bob for a Big Ben bong’ on Brexit night?True but there is no going back now so we must make the best of it.ViewDate:

Would you ‘Bung a bob for a Big Ben bong’ on Brexit night?I think the money could be better spent elsewhere. The whole Brexit saga has gone on for so long and has caused so much bitterness and division that it will just be a relief, rather than a celebration, when it is all wrapped up and done and we can get on with life without having to hear continuous arguments about it.ViewDate:

Should playing tag in the playground be banned in Primary Schools?Children need to learn (1) to cope in a life that is rough and tumble and (2) boundaries to their behaviour - so gentle admonishment if they get overexcited and too rough. I don't know anyone who has been left emotionally scarred by the games of tag they played when we were children!ViewDate:

7 Clever uses for Vicks VapoRubGrowing up my Mum always gave me a good Vick rub if I had a cold. Helped me to sleep and I rarely needed any other medication. Good to have these other tips - especially the bug repellant one. I am taking this opportunity to share my petition to reduce medicine and equipment waste and save NHS funds. Would you like a ‘standing’ GP appointment?Another silly idea which I really hope they do not try to implement. How much money have they wasted brainstorming to come up with this nonsense? Perhaps if they were more careful with available funds and resources there would be sufficient medical facilities and personnel - from hospital beds to GPS and nurses - the list is endless - to ensure people get treated promptly. My husband's cancer was not diagnosed for over a year by which time it was life threatening and required major surgery from which he is now thankfully finally starting to recover - one year on today. The surgeon by the way was fantastic. The aftercare from nurses sometimes working 14 hour shifts was not always satisfactory. We don't believe in suing because it just takes more funds away from an already cash strapped NHS but I have started a petition to reduce waste and save funds. If anyone wants to have a look/sign/share here is the link http://chng.it/PDLCHdQM Any support would be hugely appreciated.ViewDate:

How have you been affected by the NHS crisis?Have had problems with diagnosis and treatment for two relatives. Excuses always connected with shortage of resources. Did some research and started a petition to save NHS funds. Here is the link http://chng.it/PDLCHdQM Please take a look and sign and share if you agree.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsI have recently joined Silversurfers and this is my first foray into Speakers Corner. Over the last couple of years my daughter and then my husband had serious health issues which resulted in hospitalisation in life threatening situations. Both have thankfully recovered but their conditions were made worse by delays in diagnosis, and then by the quality of care provided. The excuses were always linked to shortages of resources. We don't believe in suing to cause further strain on the NHS which is already struggling. I did some research and discovered a huge amount of waste in terms of unused medication, equipment etc, To try to extract something out of the very difficult, frightening, stressful situation we have been in I have started a petition to the Health Secretary to run a fresh nationwide campaign to educate the public and health workers on ways to reduce the estimated annual waste of £300 million pounds of unused medication. On top of this is the wasted quipment (like mobility equipment) and the cost of incinerating discarded medicine and the paperwork involved. You can read more if you wish to view my petition, in particular the updates which show how it has developed. If anyone wants to have a look/ sign/ share here is the link http://chng.it/PDLCHdQM Any support will go a long way to encourage the Health Secretary to respond. -
