Christmas day for carersA very moving poem. My mother was in a Care Home from 2014 to 2016 and I visited her several times a week. She received the best of care and was a 100 years old when she died. My cousin has just gone into a Care Home because of dementia and I will be visiting him tomorrow. The carers are underpaid and very often not appreciated for all the work they do.ViewDate:

Speakers Corner CommentsI am a big fan of the TV programme, University Challenge and was very disappointed when Amol Rajan was named as Jeremy Paxman's replacement. He has been described by Virginia Blackburn, a columnist in the ' Daily Express ', as " self satisfied ". I would have been happy with either of the other suggested replacements, Sandi Toksvig or Richard Osman. What do others think ?ViewDate:
