Should the Government launch a food-rationing scheme?I remember those shortages Lionel. Plus the bread shortage which was also in 1974 I think. Like you I was newly married and decided to make my own bread. How hard could it be! Well very hard as it turned out - doorstop anyone?ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months?Talk about excessive! Of course it makes absolute sense for the older generation to take extra care of themselves during this time. However not everyone in their 70's is old either in mind or in body, indeed some will still be in active employment. Also for some of the much older generation staying indoors that long will cause irreparable mental distress because they will literally not see a soul. Not everybody has somebody.ViewDate:

Did Prince Andrew's Newsnight interview make his predicament better or worse?Fair point Sylvie. Although I do still feel that a London itself offers mostly royal attractions to lure tourists. I hail from Portsmouth and it is steeped in incredible history.ViewDate:

Did Prince Andrew's Newsnight interview make his predicament better or worse? What truly irks, apart from the fact it is all a little bit late in the day, is that he quite clearly felt all he had to was explain to the people that he’s made a dreadful mistake and we’d doff our caps, say “beggin’ your pardon sir” and be on our way. He’s misguided; he’s been ill advised and the man simply does not care. He only cares that he’s been found out. He is the thorn in the crown. It’s lunacy to suggest we don’t need the Royal family, of course we do. We have more to gain as a nation, than lose from having them. What else would tourists bother to come London for? However a total shakeup of personnel (Royal and otherwise) and some of the crazy outdated ceremonies and procedures, is well over due. Maybe give the young royals a chance to shine, in their own way.ViewDate:

Do you think Camilla should be crowned queen?Camilla is married to our next possible King. Give the woman a title of sorts but I'm not sure she deserves to be called our Queen. (Although I feel she carries out more royal duties than Beatrice and Eugene! ) Diana was undoubtedly used by the Royal family, which lost the Royals a lot of public respect and left a bad taste. But Diana was hardly a saint, she did seem to court controversy. Sad, unnecessary ending to a young woman's life though. There are always two sides to every story and we can only quote what we have read in the the papers at that time, but that doesn't make it fact.ViewDate:
