Do you agree with the decision to axe HS2 northern leg?I live on the outskirts of Bradford and we never believed it woud happen . Politicians promse all sorts for th North but as thy all start in the south the money always runs out . he money would have been beter spent on improving the services that were already there . More people want to travel East to West that to go to London and that Rail route has been a joke for years . Politicians make decisions made on the short term when they should be concentrating on the long term . They always seem to have one eye on what job they'll be doing when they leave Parliament . lso too much mney is wasted on Consultants . They need to Base more Departments in the Nirth not in Bg Cties but the smaller ones they need the investent Here it all gets sucked into Leeds and I a shure other Placs suffer the same .ViewDate:

Will you send Christmas cards this year in view of postal strikes and increased postage costs?Yes I will still be sending Christmas Cards I make my own . It shows people that your are thinking about them . If you buy stamps a few at a time during the year it's easier than buying them all at once. That way I don't really notice the difference. I love receiving cards too . E cards are fine and I have friends who find this easier .I still print them out and display them . I use y old cards to make Tags or donate them to the local nursery and they reuse them .ViewDate:

Do you believe the Assisted Dying Bill should be passed?Having seen friends and family die in agony ( despite pain relief being given ) I do . I a concerned that vulnerable peolple should be protected and safeguards need to be built in . The dying person shoud be given an independent advocate/guardian who will ensure that they are doing what they want and not being pressurised by anyone . A living will may be part of this , my husband and I have discussed this and we both now each others wishes .ViewDate:

What are your views on TV Charity Begging Adverts?I actually turn the TV over when I see these ads ( it's like Charity Porn looking at the suffering of others ) Before the advert the should be forced to display the Pay of the chief executives of the Chairty concerned and how much of peoples donations actually reach the people concerned . I now prefer to help local charities staffed by volunteers.ViewDate:

Should the Covid vaccine be mandatory for care home workers?I am not one for coercing people into getting jabs , I prefer the carrot to the stick . It should be up to the Home owners to decide . I thibk that id we have a vaccine passport and people start being refused entry to things because they are not vaccnated they will probably want to have them . The media has not helped in this matter with reports of Blood Clots etc. We need to educate not punish .ViewDate:

Would you be happy with a driving curfew over the age of 70?This is an infrigement of my human rights . Most older drivers are very responsible and tend to self police themselves. If there are health reasons for not driving then that should be enforced . The problem is that many younger drivers are impatient and if your are sticking to the speed limits they are on your rear bumper intimidating you . The other day I was 20 feet away from the traffic light when it went to amber and I came to a slow controlled stop at the line , a car ulled out from behind me and drove through the red light . At the nest traffic lights ( town centre ) I was approaching the traffic ghts when a white van on the insidle lane put its RH indicator on I slowed to give him space to filter in before the lights .He thanked me , the car driver behind ( young male) honked his horn and made obscene gestures at me . Idiots come in all ages .ViewDate:

Will you be taking advantage of lockdown easing?I have met up with my sister in law and husband , we sat in their really large garden and it was wonderful . I also invited my neighbour round into my garden for and fternoo chin wag and a coffee . All socially distanced . Really enjoyable . My blood boils when I see on the TV the mountains of litter left behind by selfish people who ignored the advice . If we get a third wave they will be responsible .ViewDate:

What are your views on TV Charity Begging Adverts?I was talking to a friend the other day and she said that since she had bought soemthing from a charities catalogue they had sent her begging letters and even phoned her up . She was really annoyed . I have made an exception though for the Mail laptops for children to help with their schooling during lockdown I think that that is a worthwhile cause .ViewDate:

Scrap the Sovereign Grant?I feel that a slimmed down Monarchy is of overall benefit to the country they attract a lot of tourism and businesses to invest here . I would rather have the Monarchy than some Ex- Politician . Duty seems to be a dirty word nowadays with people out for themselves . When I see how much our MPs cost with their ages and expenses and also how much the House of Lords costs . I know which I would prefer . The problem with having an elected 'President' is that you could get someone like Trump . No thank you . Which Republics could be held up as good examples ?ViewDate:

What are your views on TV Charity Begging Adverts?I object to the emotioal blackmail especially when a lot of the larger charities are now 'businesseses ' with verywell renumerated executives . People have their favourite charities and will donate regardless of TV appeals . Unless it is for a one off like Tsunamis etc. I am afraid they do the exact opposite with me . I give my donations to smaller local Charities and local Hospices .ViewDate:

Will the pandemic put an end to paying with cash?A cashless society is being driven by the Banks who charge the retailers to use the card machines to make even more profit. The poor will be hard hit by this and I feel that debt will rse . Spending via a machine it is so easy to lose track of your outgoings . We must defend Cash .ViewDate:

Would you vote to legalise euthanasia?Strong Safeguards could be put in place to ensure that people didnt feel pressurised to end their lives .. We should be able to have dignity in death . I have seen a couple of my nearest and dearest suffer with terrble pain before they died , this despite being on the strongest painkillers. If we allowed our animals to suffer as they suffered we would have been prosecuted . I have heard the arguments about palliative care and pain relief but this has not been my exoerience .ViewDate:

Are you living with tougher lockdown measures at the moment? We are caught between two places with high covid infection . At least tere are two of us in then household , it must be much harder for people on their own . We have been social distancing since the first lockdown in March , did not take part in the eat out to help out due to fears of catching Covid . We get frustrated at those people who won't follow the rues but all we can do is fend for ouselves and try and keep safe .ViewDate:

Is a second national lockdown for vulnerable over 50s the right way forward? They should be concentrating their efforts on the people who flout the rules those who won't wear a face mask and those who won't social distance . the punishment obviously need to be more severe to get it through the thickheads . The country is going to hell in a handcart . Our Politicians seem to be inadequate to the job . That is Politicians from all parties especially those who criticise with the hlp of hindsight but never put their own ideas up for scrutiny .ViewDate:

Are you inclined to take up the Government's offer - 'Eat Out To Help Out'?I wouldn't feel safe eating out we have rarely ventured out of shielding and when we havee we ahve been ismayed at the lack of social distancing and people with no awareness of their proximity to you . The money could have been better spent . Some people are eating out every day sometimes twice a day and bragging about it . Whereas more vulnerable older people who have been shielding are unable /unwilling to risk eating out . They should have reduced business rates and le business es decide how to tempt people back in . The money could have been better used to subsidise Television licences fo the over 75's who have been tpld to self isolate . I am sure they would have appreciated this as the TV is their only contact and entertainment in these stressful times.ViewDate:

Should controversial statues around the country be removed? It really depends on who it is , what they did , where it is erected . If consensus to remove it can be reached (perhaps by a vote of residents ) then they coukd be renoved and placed in a museum where people could educate themselves about the horror of slavery . However I do not agree with taking down the statues of people whose father may have owned slaves . The sins of the fathers should not fall on the sons ( no daughters included as I don't know of one ).Mobs should not be allowed to dictate or anarchists . We should always acknowledge our past and learn from the mistakes if we try to re-write history by just removing them then no one will learn about them . I would hope thatthe people caling for the removal pput as much energy into eradicating modern day slavery - won't hold my breath though .ViewDate:

Should wearing a face mask be compulsory in shops? My husband and me have been sheilding since the beginning of lockdown due to age and susceptibily to chest infections . We have only last week gone out into a shop to buy top up groceries (we use click and collect for our main shop) I am a glasses wearer so find if I wear a blue surgical face mask my glasses steam up . I tried the ones with valves in same effect . Eventually i ought some cotton bandanas which I can secure under the bottom of my glasses . I look like I an outlaw ready to rob but at least my glasses don't steam up. Today however with it being so warm I nearly passed out so I won't be going out in one on hot days . In Bradford we are facing another lockdown because of irresponsible people . Also we have Eid tomorrow so there will be crowds of people in close proximity . So I am obeying the rules pther nit - I have to lockdown . Infuriating .ViewDate:

Should all GP appointments go online?some consultations could quite easily be made online as long as you are au fait with the system . I have used it twice I described my symptoms online . ADr very quickly phoned me and talked to me , result to hospital for tests .Thankfully everything was fine . More recently another problem arose with my hip again I put my symptoms into the computer and again a Dr phoned and diagnosed Bursitus and prescribed me some painkillers and exercise . So for me and at my surgery the system seems good. I accept that sometimes things will be missed but I think on the whole we have to accept progress there are just too many demandson the Drs time.ViewDate:

Should the new Covid-19 vaccine be made optional or mandatory?Perhaps but I still don't think that forcing people is the way to go . It's difficult one I personally would have any vaccines to protect my health . ButbI make that decision not someone else.I am old enough to remember he horrors of Thalidomide . Has lockdown made you more likely to shop online in the future?i have grocery shopped online when I eventually managed to get a slot but it has been very hit and miss. Some of the so called fresh veg has been abysmal . Then you have the squashed loaves , crushed biscuits . I can't wait to choose my own groceries again. I am determined that I will now be supporting small businesses and those who put the customer first and deliver good customer service - if they don't i'll take my money elsewhere.
