Stokkers's bio
Hi.
I am from Wisbech, Cambs.
Spent over 20 years at sea in RN and MN.
Now retired, but due to diabetes and other health problems, am not too active though I try to potter around in my small garden. I also used to love walking in the Peak District and Norfolk 'Alps.'
I am also interested in computing, though feel I am getting left behind these days. I find I am getting those people I taught the basics of use of computers, are now teaching me! -

Blocking cold callsBeen using a CallBlocker for years and it seems to work. It comes loaded with a load of numbers installed, but if a call does get through, I usually have a chat with the caller and then after a short while, I just press a button on top of the gadget and that then cuts thm off in mid prime and stores their number! The nuisance calls I like the best are these ones that say they are from BT and have a very storng Asian accent, to tell me there is something wrong with my BT Hub. I act surprised and ask them for their EID (Engineer ID number). When they stubble, that's when I press the button. I don't get many of them now. Don't know why! I lead a very sad, quiet life!!ViewDate:

PaintingJust sat here thinking it's about time I got down to work with some home made cards for next month and noticed there is a forum in Silversurfers. Right: Intro (The painting I will start after lunch.) Proper name is Ken and I live in Wisbech, Cambs. I've been painting on and off for many years. Mainly landscapes in water colour. I've also dabbled in pastel, coloured pencils and just ordinary pencils. The cards I am about to start will be in watercolours. Quite often I seek advice from other, but I have found that formal help has not been the type I like. Nice and easy and not so high faluting! I notice ther doesn't seem to be a place to post our paintings. Maybe have to set up a Facebook page. Well, I must get lunch or else I'll not get my backside into gear with my cards this afternoon.ViewDate:

Where do you go to find a recipe?I am in the same boat as most of you. Loads of books, but go online and search All Recipes UK and BBC. I wondered why I do this and came to the conclusion that I use online because I can print them off. I usually copy them and paste into Word so that I can edit them. I try to edit them onto a 1 page of A4 paper. -
