Should classrooms be mobile phone free zones? If children can rely on using mobile phones for their education, i.e. multiplication etc, research, homework, then they will not bother to absorb the information they are given.ViewDate:

What shall I do?Lovely poem Glenys. I too started writing after my husband died, I didn't have any published though I have two here on Silversurfers. I met a new love in January of this year and have moved in for the lockdown, not going anywhere now. That is a truly lovely story except I haven't done any writing since. I hope I can get back to it in the New Year. Keep on writing Glynis, you have a rare talent.ViewDate:

Should the Government launch a food-rationing scheme? There may be enough just now but as time goes on and crops go untended they will wither and die so food may become scarce. People need to be sensible about panic buying.ViewDate:

Is it realistic to expect over 70s to remain in their homes for 4 months? Many of the over 70s are the most active, looking after granchildren, volunteering. I am over 70 and I have no intention of staying home for FOUR months. I'm moving house in April so I don't really have a choice anyway.ViewDate:

Will you be sending Christmas cards this year?As you say, some of us oldies still prefer to keep in touch with old friends in the traditional way. It is not the same to receive an e-card although a lot of my friends are now doing it that way.ViewDate:

Should playing tag in the playground be banned in Primary Schools?I dread to think of how the next generation will turn out, will they manage to surive in difficult conditions? Kids have always had scrapes, it is what makes them stronger to cope with lifes ups and downs. We should not keep wrapping them in cotton wool. Ridiculous.ViewDate:

Should over 70s be banned from voting on the country's future?Bloody cheek. These snowflakes don't know what hard times the "oldies" had to put up with. They are so arrogant these days and think the World revolves around them.ViewDate:

Was Prince Harry right to bare his soul on television?Harry had a good relationship with William and Kate before Megham came on the scene. She is trying to change him and the Royal Family and it is not working. They should get on with their lives and stop whingeing. I'm sure it will end in tears. Grow a pair Harry.ViewDate:

Do you think the tactics of Extinction Rebellion are justified? Most of us realise the situation with climate change. What I don't get is that none of the protestors come up with a solution to change what is happening, it is much easier just to blame previous generations and the Government. Making a nuisance of themselves does not bring the public on their side. I bet the majority of protestors won't stop using planes for their holidays, or stop using their appliances or energy guzzling cars.ViewDate:

Do you agree with the TV licence changes for over-75s?I'm not on pension credit and I would find it difficult to afford. What's next? Bus Pass, Fuel Allowance? Why don't BBC show ads like the other channels? It's unfair to hit the people who have paid in all their lives.ViewDate:

Hair and fashion trends from the 60sI loved those times. I wore the boots, mini skirts, bobbed hair etc. Girls looked smart and were generally slim. It is a shame that is not the situation now.ViewDate:

Would you buy your supermarket produce loose, out of packaging?I would prefer to take my own box and weigh out produce. Firstly, it will save everything coming in a plastic box and also I will be able to buy produce for one person and not for a whole family. Definitely get my vote. I hope Tesco will start doing this.ViewDate:

Is going digital isolating elderly people?I am totally IT Savvy but I can understand those who are interested in taking it up later in life. Closing banks and services impact on all ages and makes life more difficult for some who have mobility issues. The Internet was supposed to help us all but I can see how it can isolate many people. In the future we might not have any reason to go through the front door as our high streets will not have much to offer.ViewDate:
