Beat Plastic Pollution on World Environment DayA big problem is the plastics that food from supermarkets come in. Maybe we should go to local butchers, and take our own containers to have meat put into. That would reduce a lot of plastic waste over a year. Boycott pre-packed fruit and veg, and buy only loose. Putting it in our own bags or containers. I have tried shampoo bars. They work just as good as shampoo in a bottle. Some of the big cosmetic companies make them. So the quality is the same. Same with conditioners. I bought disinfectant in a spray bottle, but there are refills that work like washing machine ‘gel tabs.’ Once the bottle is empty, pop in a refill ‘gel tab’, fill with water, give it a good shake to mix well, and it’s all done. The only packaging is a small cardboard box which is recyclable. I’m trying to reduce the amount of plastic that comes into my home. Ordering items online is a problem that I cannot do anything about. I don’t understand why they can’t package into thick paper or card. If we all make just a few changes, it will get better.ViewDate:

Money saving baked ham40 years ago I had the old fashioned pressure cooker. They’re great for cooking stews, but not very versatile. I gave mine to charity. Recently I bought a Ninja cooker, which can be used as a pressure cooker. They’re so versatile. I can multi cook in one selection. Saving time and money. In recent years though, I have boiled my hams, or just roasted. Any way you cook them they’re delicious.ViewDate:

Win a Silentnight Miracoil Geltex Mattress worth £769Just when I need to replace my mattress. Both my husband and myself suffer with fibromyalgia, and I have sleep apnoea. It’s very hard to enjoy a good nights sleep. A good mattress would go a long way towards it.ViewDate:

Do you believe in Middle Child Syndrome?Haha. Yes I agree. But there was 18 years between myself and my oldest sister, and another 6 years between myself and the youngest. The older half had left Home whilst I was growing up, so mostly I grew up with the youngest of the boys (2 and a bit years older), and 2 younger sisters. I was happiest left to my own devices. With my head in a book somewhere quiet.ViewDate:

Do you believe in Middle Child Syndrome? Our two oldest sons were 10 and 8 when unexpectedly I found myself pregnant with our youngest. So up until then the 8 year old had been our baby. All of a sudden he was a middle child. He came round once he got used to having another brother. I am also a middle child. I am 7th from a family of 9 children. I think personalities are not dependent on where you sit within a family.ViewDate:

Win a NUTRiBULLET Magic Bullet Blender, Mixer & Food ProcessorI love to cook, bake, make. My son and I often used to make shakes before work. Our blender broke. It would be an amazing prize to us. We could get back to a healthy shake to start the day. I’m more a fruity shaker, and my son likes to do a more veggie shake.ViewDate:

Win ONE of TWO copies of Mary Berry's Quick Cooking!I love Mary Berry’s recipes. My youngest son, who still lives at home is developing a love of cooking. But he tends to look for one pot recipes. (He doesn’t like the clean up afterwards) Something quick and easy. Mary Berry makes everything simple. Step by step. This is a book I’d like to gift him with. I know he’d find lots of recipes to try. And I’m sure my husband and myself would love to eat themViewDate:

Win one of Five Gx Pillows Twin or Multi Packs worth £49.99I have sleep apnoea, and I can’t remember when I last had a good nights sleep. It’s been years. A comfortable bed and pillows is very important. It seems like it’s an impossible task to get either. It would be nice to tick at least one off the list. It could make all the difference to someone’s sleep. Good luck everyone.ViewDate:

Win a pair of tickets to Australia with Qantas! My husbands brother emigrated in the 60’s. Although he’s been able to fly back here a few times, we’ve not been able to go there. He’s in his 70’s now, and I don’t think he’ll be coming again. It would be a lovely surprise for my husband and his brother if we won a superb prize like this. Also, it’s our 40th anniversary this year, and that would make it even more special.ViewDate:

Win a pair of tickets to Australia with Qantas! My husbands half brother emigrated during the 1960’s when it cost just £10. So I’m told. My husband was very young at the time. Although his brother has returned home for visits several times, he’s getting on a bit now. He’s in his 70’s. I don’t think he’s up to travelling that distance any more. It would be fantastic to say to my husband, “we’ve won tickets”. What an amazing prize.ViewDate:

Does the person in the middle seat on a plane have the right to use both armrests?Whatever has happened to politeness. No matter which way you configure it, someone has two armrests. Can’t we just ask if the person next to us minds us using an adjoining armrest for a while. After all, we don’t sit still like dummies for a whole flight. We probably wouldn’t use it for a whole flight. We can share, can’t we? Didn’t our parents teach us, the same as we taught our children, to be fair minded, and to share? -
