Widowed in 2008 after 32 years of very happy marriage, I'm now moving on as a new single me. I have just moved from Aberdeenshire to live in Kent (near daughter and family) and I am getting to know the new area, places and meeting new friends .
I have an interest in local politics and community affairs. Music wise - a very eclectic taste - from light classical to rock with some Folk thrown in for good measure! I've recently been looking out some sketch books, paints and pencils with the intention of going back to Art classes in the Autumn.

Are Harry and Meghan making the right decision?Voted yes but if they are so upset by being in the limelight as Royals they should renounce titles etc fully. Finding new friendsHi maureenmargaret, I moved to Kent 6 months ago - nearer family, and I'm gradually getting to know the local area. I took the plunge and joined a few local groups, U3A being one of them, and have found people to be friendly and welcoming. As you say, it is difficult to join in to new groups as most people already have their own 'set' but its early days yet and its helping me get out and make an effort to socialise. I hope you manage to make some new friends soon.ViewDate:

Should Punch and Judy be banned at public events?Personally, I'm not a fan! However its just a puppet show and any shows I've passed by have always been well attended by youngsters laughing and yelling at the antics. Far more harm is being done by letting youngsters become engrossed in mindless and often very violent, computer games which appear to be more lifelike and realistic to them.ViewDate:

Is it time to make drink driving zero tolerance?It's now lowered to 50mg here in Scotland and should be UK wide. It was a good decision to do this - basically zero tolerance but allows for any slight reading due to medication or traces from mouthwash! -
