Would you like to see imperial measurements return?No. A hundred times no. Boris has mentioned this as another deflection tactic to move our attention away from the party gate scandals . What he wants above all else is to remain in power. There would be enormous costs incurred on industry, commerce and citizens in an attempt to turn the clock back. And this at a time when costs are spiralling anyway. And if the U.K. wants to trade with the EU, it would be another obstacle for exporters to deal with. There is nothing to be gained by reintroducing imperial weights and measures, and so much to be lost.ViewDate:

Do you agree with prettifying dogs?Grooming, brushing and keeping a dogs coat in good condition is an excellent thing to do, and many dogs enjoy the attention and the experience. But this is a world away from the colouring, dressing up and shaping that is done now. These practices have zero benefit to the dog, and the dog has no say in whether it is done or not. This “prettifying” is done for the benefit of owners, and destroys the animal’s dignity. I find it abhorrent.ViewDate:

Do you think we need tougher lockdown restrictions?I don’t think we need more restrictions. - We need people to abide by the restrictions already in place. - We need shops and supermarkets to enforce the distancing rules, and the ‘one shopper per trolley rule’. - We need businesses and individuals to stop looking for loopholes in the regulations. - We need people to wear masks, wash hands and keep to the 2 metre spacing.ViewDate:

A friends daughter works on a till in a major supermarket. She says the staff get all sorts of abuse from shoppers, moaning about restrictions and things the staff cannot do anything about. Would you be happy to visit a National Trust garden next week?I’m perfectly happy to go to a park, or somewhere similar outdoors for a walk. It’s not happening in in Scotland yet, but I’ll go as soon as it does... However I would still be anxious about indoor spaces- it will be a long time before I am comfortable enough to stroll round Tesco’s, or to sit in a restaurant.ViewDate:

Should WW2 veteran NHS fundraiser Tom Moore be knighted?He deserves a Knighthood, and a phone call from the Palace, and every honour we can give him. It’s a wonderful thing he is doing, and he is a brave and generous gentleman. But wouldn’t it be so much better if the government had funded the NHS adequately ahead of this crisis, so it would have been better prepared and equipped, and didn’t have to rely on the efforts of a 99 year old man?ViewDate:

This is how honey can be good for your whole bodyI love honey - eat it every day. But I don’t bother with Manuka honey - the genuine article is way too expensive. If you do believe in magical Manuka, bear this in mind: an article from “the Independent” in 2014 says this: According to New Zealand's leading manuka association, 1,800 tonnes a year of the honey are now consumed in the UK each year, out of an estimated 10,000 tonnes globally. Yet production of the genuine stuff is set at just 1,700 tonnes, or the equivalent to more than three million small jars. Unless Britain has somehow managed to secure all of it, there's a lot of fake manuka on our shelves.ViewDate:

Will you tune in to the first General Election televised debate?You can’t say Jo Swinson is irrelevant just because you don’t agree with her views on Brexit! And the dismissive attitude of the Westminster parliament is one of the reasons that the Independence movement is gaining ground again in Scotland. The smaller parties will very likely hold the balance of power in the next parliament - it’s unlikely the Tories or Labour will be able to win an overall majority. So it would be much better to stop ignoring the minority parties and to listen to what they would be asking for if they form part of a coalition. I prefer to read the papers and listen to interviews and political analysts to help me form my views. I don’t think that swapping soundbites in a tv debate will help much. So just because I won’t watch the debate, that doesn’t mean I won’t be informed on the issues or that I will be somehow not entitled to vote!ViewDate:
