MiRiDER 24 – A versatile, unique and premium electric bicycle

After perfecting its 16-inch lightweight folding bike, MiRiDER faced high expectations for their next model. Following extensive market research and feedback from their network of over 200 dealers, they took on the challenge of creating a step-through e-bike with the distinct MiRiDER touch. Staying true to the brand’s DNA, the goal was to design a fun, lightweight, and agile bike that evokes emotion and pushes boundaries. The result is a striking, versatile, and dynamic e-bike suitable for many riders.

The MiRiDER 24 comes in two high-quality matt metallic colours: Ember Orange and Onyx Grey. We tested the Ember Orange which was very eye-catching and I think adds a degree of safety as its very easy to see. I really liked the wider tyres and full mudguards which were a boon on a couple of wet days keeping the spray from the roads off me! One of the cleverest aspects are the front and rear luggage racks that came with my version. Going on a picnic or carrying a bag to work? The MiRiDER can handle it. I tested a large sports bag on the rear luggage rack and it fitted perfectly.

Included are front and rear lights making you visible in the dark. Plus, the rear light has a clever sensor that increases the brightness when you’re braking.

There is the option to select either a single-speed version, which is the one we tested, or the GB3 variant, featuring a G3ARED three-speed gearbox and a Gates Drive Belt system. Both models are backed by a comprehensive two-year warranty. The single speed version was fine and I managed to climb up some of the steepest hills in the North Downs on my rides while being very comfortable on even the bumpiest roads.

The MiRiDER 24 features a step-through aluminum frame, weighing just 21kg with the battery, making it lightweight yet remarkably stable and a very comfortable ride. Its shortened wheelbase geometry provides an exceptional turning radius, enhancing maneuverability and inspiring rider confidence which is very helpful, especially on city streets.

Sharing space saving elements from their 16in cousin such as a folding handlebar stem, pedals and removeable saddle stem, it allows slender (30cm) storage at home or on the go – specifically designed for Motorhome garage spaces at just 86cm high, or equally happy on cycle racks.

The MiRiDER 24 is powered by the exclusive MiRiDER MIDRIVE™ electric drive system with its impressive boost feature, driven by a Samsung 10.5aH 378Wh battery. The 36V system can achieve up to 65 miles (100 km) on a single charge, thanks to the 250W silent-running rear hub motor. Riders can take advantage of the intuitive software and thumb-operated ‘Boost control’ for extra power when needed, which I found really helpful when going up steeper hills.

The battery is easily removed and a full charge takes between 2.5 to 3 hours with the included 3A MiRiDER charger.

Pricing and Availability

The MiRiDER 24 is available to pre-order now with deliveries expected mid/end of June.  The bike will be available to ride at the National Cycling Show, Birmingham NEC 15th & 16th June 2024. Both models have a premium matt metallic paint finish with an RRP of £1,995 for the MiRiDER 24, while the MiRiDER 24 GB3 has an RRP of £2,995. The bike will arrive with customers in 100% plastic-free, fully recyclable packaging fully assembled and ready to ride. I recommend it as a really comfortable and enjoyable bike for both city and country cycling.

Final thoughts

I am a total convert to e-bikes and the MiRiDER 24 is more than just a mode of transportation—it’s a lifestyle upgrade taking the pain out of cycling and adding pleasure to your ride!  It is easy to stow on a bike rack on your car or motorhome and would be the perfect companion to an adventure holiday.
