Win a pair of tickets for BBC Gardeners’ World Live Autumn Fair

The BBC Gardeners’ World Autumn Fair, in association with English Heritage, returns to Audley End in Saffron Walden from 1 – 3 September with seasonal garden inspiration and plants, expert advice, shopping and entertainment.

We’ve got three pairs of standard adult tickets to give away to attend Sunday 3rd September, 10am entry, RRP £44.60 per pair.

Autumn gardening expertise will be in abundance as BBC Two Gardeners’ World TV presenters, Frances Tophill (Friday), Arit Anderson (Saturday) and Adam Frost (Sunday), will share tips on stage with Gardeners’ World Magazine editor Kevin Smith and the team, and ‘In Conversation’ talks in Audley End’s magnificent Parterre gardens with BBC TV presenter Chris Bavin. In addition, visitors will get advice on everything grow-your-own at the informal Let’s Grow Stage, with experts including Ade Sellars and Chris Collins.

Seasonal gardening inspiration will overflow with a bumper crop of Beautiful Borders and Showcase Gardens including An Edible Garden Through Time, designed by Plant Expert and Head Gardener at East Donyland Hall, Lucy Chamberlain, with Gemma Sturges and Kelly Fowler from Audley End’s Kitchen Garden team. This garden charts the ‘grow your own’ movement from a 19th century kitchen garden to a modern-day growing plot.

Other Showcase Gardens feature a wellbeing garden designed by students at Downing College, Cambridge, The Life-Force Garden designed by florist, grower and garden designer, Kim O’Brien, and St Andrew’s Sensory Adventure, designed by local schoolchildren.

Planting and design ideas for small or challenging spaces will be ready to inspire visitors at the Beautiful Borders, many created by local designers. In addition, three landscaping companies will put their design and build skills to the test to each create a garden against the clock in the Association of Professional Landscapers’ Skills Competition.

Plant Experts and senior English Heritage garden team members will be hosting tours of Audley End’s organic kitchen garden (ticketed) and there will be historical performances by Mr Vert, the Victorian head gardener. There’s also the chance to join oyster mushroom growing workshops (ticketed) and drop-in dahlia bouquet workshops.

Specialist growers, nurseries and gardening retailers will be selling seasonal plants, gardening kit, tools and accessories. Delicious autumnal eats, treats, drinks and street food can be found at the BBC Good Food Market, with live bandstand entertainment to enjoy.

Tickets for the BBC Gardeners’ World Autumn Fair include access to Audley End House, gardens and grounds. Well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome in the grounds.
