Which is your favourite shop bought hot cross bun?
You know Easter is coming when you sample your first hot cross bun of the season! Are you a connoisseur of this traditional treat?
The origins of hot cross buns may go back as far as the 12th century. According to the story, an Anglican monk baked the buns and marked them with a cross in honour of Good Friday. Over time they gained popularity, and eventually became a symbol of Easter weekend.
Some of us make our own hot cross buns, and many of us pop a pack in our basket at our favourite supermarket. Shop bought hot cross buns can vary so much and when you have discovered the one that hits the spot there is no turning back! Are they just for Easter or do you eat them all year round?
